Chapter 287 - Chapter 287 — The Legendary “God-Level Dish”!

That dry heave—

It was tragic.

It was despairing.

It was the sound of a divine soul collapsing.

Like someone dropped a depth charge into the peaceful morning, the retching echoed violently through the empty hall.

Near the counter, Hu Liena, Zhu Zhuqing, and Zhu Zhuyun froze mid-motion.

Then, like puppets on a string, all three jerked their heads toward the source of the sound.

There, at the entrance—

Angel Rakshasa Dong was a wreck.

Her posture was hunched, both hands clutching her knees as she vomited with such intensity it felt like she wanted to return all the barbecue she'd eaten last night—plus interest—back to the mortal world.

Her misery was so intense that even the sunlight outside seemed to dim.

And at that moment—

The faint wisp of smoke drifting from the kitchen leisurely reached the three women.

"Hmm?"

Their expressions still held a faint curiosity.

And then—

It hit their noses.

Their faces froze.

"MEOWWWW—!!!"

The Zhu Sisters' feline instincts detonated instantly.

They didn't even form a full scream; every strand of fur on their bodies stood upright.

In the next moment—

Two black-and-white shadows shot across the hall at supersonic speed, launching themselves into the farthest corner like frightened wildcats.

Hu Liena, not being an agility-type Spirit Master, reacted half a beat slower.

She couldn't escape.

The moment the indescribable stench hit her—

It was like an invisible sledgehammer smashed straight into her olfactory nerves.

Her fox eyes went wide.

"Whoosh!"

A fluffy fox tail burst from behind her uncontrollably.

But instead of swaying seductively, it stood straight upright—rigid as steel, fur exploding in every direction, forming a perfect, bristled sphere.

Her fox ears trembled madly as if trying to violently vibrate the stench out of her skull.

Outside the Restaurant Door

Angel Rakshasa Dong finally stopped gagging.

She leaned weakly against the doorframe, panting like she had escaped hell.

Inside her mind—

The Angel God's trembling voice sounded.

[Rakshasa… y-you… ugh… why did you take such a huge breath just now?!]

Rakshasa God's voice was tearful, almost sobbing.

[How would I know it was THAT kind of smell?!]

[Those Titled Douluo must've been messing with us! They called this fragrant? They called this ethereal?!]

[This is clearly something that can SEND MY SOUL DIRECTLY TO THE AFTERLIFE!]

The two gods began blaming each other frantically—

But then…

Lin Feng stepped out of the kitchen.

He carried a tray.

A faint wisp of smoke rose behind him like a mysterious omen.

He surveyed the scene—

Hu Liena trembling like a traumatized fox, the Zhu Sisters curled up in a corner, Angel Rakshasa Dong looking like a wilted cabbage…

Even Lin Feng's own mouth twitched.

Was it really that bad?

Then he looked down at his tray.

Actually, maybe it made sense.

A Loyal Fox's Duty

Hu Liena forced herself upright.

When she saw the master coming out, her loyalty overcame her survival instincts.

Face flushed red from holding her breath, she hurried over.

"Master… let me."

She took the tray from Lin Feng with steady hands—

but her gaze darted everywhere except the tray.

Still, she caught a glimpse from the corner of her eye—

A large, dark, steaming mass.

Like…

Charred, hardened… excrement.

Her stomach lurched violently.

She dared not look again.

She forced herself to walk in a perfectly straight line, like a malfunctioning doll, and placed the tray heavily on the table.

Bang.

With a forced professional tone, she announced:

"Guest… your god-tier dish has arrived. Please enjoy."

The moment she finished, she fled.

She bolted back into the corner and huddled tightly with the Zhu Sisters, all three shaking like kittens during a thunderstorm.

Gods vs. Two Legendary Smells

Hearing Hu Liena's announcement, Angel Rakshasa Dong stiffened.

She turned her head slowly—painfully slowly—

wanting to ask:

"Can I… choose to not eat it?"

But then she saw Lin Feng's calm, faintly smiling gaze.

Her scalp tightened.

She swallowed the question whole.

Silently, she shuffled back to her seat.

Then she sat.

And looked down.

The moment she saw what was on the table—

Her face drained completely of color.

Her vision blurred.

She nearly fainted.

On the left: A bowl of… "soup noodles."

The broth was murky gray, like wastewater filtered through despair.

The noodles were limp and pale, floating lifelessly like formaldehyde-preserved specimens.

But the most lethal part—

Were the yellowish, rotting root-like objects floating on the surface.

The stench was not a smell.

It was a direct psychic attack.

Yet—

As she tried to adapt, something strange happened.

The "stench" evolved.

There was depth.

Layers.

Behind the sour, rotting, corpse-fermentation smell…

Was chili oil boiling everything together into a hellish aromatic explosion—

a three-dimensional, aggressive, soul-piercing scent.

Angelic voice:

[What… what is this hellish thing…?]

Rakshasa voice:

[This is NOT food! This is a curse technique!!]

On the right: A plate of… "black cubes."

Square.

Pitch black.

Haphazardly piled like a miniature charcoal mountain.

Covered in tiny pores.

Steaming slightly.

From each pore, viscous dark liquid oozed out.

The two gods' minds aligned for the first time:

"Is this… poop?"

They stiffened simultaneously.

Their souls trembled.

Then—

Lin Feng's calm voice sounded:

"Eat it quickly."

He pointed at the black cubes.

"They won't taste good once they're cold."

Angel & Rakshasa:

"..."

Their minds buzzed.

Just fried.

Just cooked.

Eat while hot.

So it really WAS freshly deep-fried… poop?!

The two gods almost ascended on the spot—for the wrong reason.

Meanwhile, Hu Liena, Zhu Zhuqing, and Zhu Zhuyun hid in the corner, thinking:

"At least we don't have to EAT it…"

But then—

Lin Feng's voice drifted over softly.

Like a demon whispering.

"Oh, right."

"I made extra."

He looked toward the three trembling girls with a gentle, benevolent smile.

"Nana, go bring them out."

"For breakfast."

And three kittens nearly died on the spot.
