Silence.

Then — stillness.

After the blinding light, Joshua's mind seemed to freeze.

For a moment, there was no sound, no motion — not even thought.

Just a white emptiness stretching endlessly around him.

Then… it began.

Fragments.

Whispers.

Flashes of things that were not his own.

Foreign memories bled into his mind like a flood breaking through a dam.

He saw people he'd never met, cities that no longer existed, and skies burning with light.

Words in strange tongues filled his head — ancient and familiar all at once.

Equations, sigils, memories, promises… all swirling into him like a storm of forgotten truth.

And in the midst of it all — one memory rose above the rest.

Slowly.

Vividly.

That night.

The night it all began.

He saw himself — smaller, weaker — standing before a figure of light.

A child trembling under the weight of a choice.

His mother's voice echoed faintly through the dark.

Her warmth.

Her smile that could outshine the stars.

But her face… was never clear.

No matter how hard he tried to remember, her face was hidden in light.

And his father — just a silhouette in the distance, watching, proud and sorrowful, before the darkness took him too.

Then came the deal.

> " You're still a baby Joshua, not even a month old. You can't handle the blessing of a god not even a minor one ?"

" i have to help her, no matter what"

Joshua — that younger version of him — said without hesitation.

Tears streaming down his cheeks.

His small hands trembling, yet certain.

> "I'll give everything… just let her live."

The angel's expression then had been unreadable — sorrow and admiration mingling like dawn and dusk.

Wings of light opened behind him, vast and radiant.

> "Then so be it."

And the light consumed everything.

---

Joshua gasped as the memory faded.

His heart raced, the echo of that night still burning inside him.

When he opened his eyes again, the white world had returned.

The angel stood before him once more, relief flickering across his golden eyes.

> "You're finally back," the angel said softly, exhaling as though he'd been waiting centuries.

"One of your gifts caught something… a disturbance. I had to wake you early."

Joshua blinked, dazed.

> "Early? What do you mean?"

The angel looked at him, his tone grave but gentle.

> "Your body isn't ready yet. I can only awaken your memories for now — not your powers. Your blessings will return in six or seven years."

He paused, his wings folding behind him as the light began to tremble.

"But we don't have that time."

Joshua frowned, confusion mixing with fear.

> "Why? What's happening?"

The angel's eyes hardened.

> "You have to leave here now."
