Chapter 5 - The Forgotten Breath

Students spread across the first floor of the Grand Library.

Gold.

Blue.

Red.

Each section quickly filled with movement, voices, and energy.

Only one remained quiet.

Harmony.

Dev stood still for a moment, watching others move with certainty.

They knew where they belonged.

They could feel it.

He couldn't.

"Vansh…" Dev said quietly.

"Yeah?"

Dev glanced toward the sections, then back at him.

"I don't think… I'll be able to use any of the breathing techniques."

Vansh frowned. "What do you mean?"

"I mean… I don't connect with Brahma, Vishnu, or Mahesh," Dev replied.

"I can't feel them."

For once—

there was no confusion in his voice.

Only clarity.

"So…" Dev continued, looking toward the fourth path,

"I'll go to the Harmony section."

"Even if I can't master it… at least I'll learn something."

There was a brief silence.

Aditya stepped forward slightly.

"…He's right," he said.

Vansh and Dev both looked at him.

"In our sections, he won't be able to use anything effectively," Aditya continued.

"But Harmony… at least gives him direction."

He looked at Dev.

"When exams come… you'll need something."

Vansh scratched his head.

"…Yeah. Makes sense."

He smirked slightly.

"Your risk."

Dev gave a small nod.

"Yeah."

Vansh pointed toward the exit.

"Two hours. We meet back here."

"Done."

Aditya nodded once.

"We'll regroup."

And just like that—

they split.

Vansh walked into the red-lit Mahesh section.

Energy surged around him immediately.

Wild.

Explosive.

Aditya stepped into the golden Brahma section.

Calm.

Structured.

Controlled.

And Dev—

Dev stepped into silence.

The Harmony Section

No light greeted him.

No reaction.

No resistance.

Just stillness.

He walked slowly between the shelves.

His footsteps felt louder here.

Unnatural.

The books were different.

No glowing symbols.

No aggressive energy.

Just quiet presence.

He picked one up.

Read a few lines.

Nothing.

Another.

Still nothing.

He frowned slightly.

I won't be able to use anything like this…

A thought formed.

Clear.

Logical.

First, I need to increase my spiritual energy.

Only then can I use techniques.

He exhaled softly.

"Then I'll start with that."

He moved deeper into the section.

More focused now.

More precise.

Row after row.

Shelf after shelf.

Nothing.

Until—

At the far end—

he noticed something different.

A small corner.

Hidden.

Only two books rested there.

Dev stepped closer.

"…That's strange."

He reached out—

and touched one.

For a moment—

nothing happened.

Then—

letters appeared.

Tri-Deva Breath

Dev's eyes widened.

"It wasn't there before…"

The air felt… different.

Not heavy.

Not powerful.

Aware.

He opened the book.

No long explanations.

No history.

No warnings.

Just—

a method.

Simple.

Precise.

Structured.

A way to breathe.

Dev sat down immediately.

"…Let's try."

He followed the instructions exactly.

Inhale.

Slow.

Controlled.

Hold.

Steady.

Exhale.

Long.

Deep.

At first—

nothing.

Then—

something.

A faint warmth.

Tiny.

Almost unnoticeable.

But real.

Dev's focus sharpened instantly.

Again.

Inhale.

Hold.

Exhale.

The warmth returned.

Stronger this time.

It moved.

Slowly.

Unstable.

Through his body.

Dev guided it carefully.

Just like the book described.

Not forcing.

Not rushing.

Just… following.

Time passed.

The world faded.

No students.

No voices.

No academy.

Only breath.

Only rhythm.

The warmth grew.

From faint—

to steady.

From scattered—

to flowing.

Dev guided it downward.

Toward the base of his spine.

The first chakra.

A small resistance.

Like a locked door.

He didn't push.

Didn't force.

He waited.

Breathed.

Guided.

And then—

Click.

A shift.

Soft.

But undeniable.

Dev's eyes snapped open.

"…It opened."

His breathing slowed naturally.

The energy inside him felt different.

Stable.

Alive.

He looked at his hands.

Slightly trembling.

"…One hour?"

He glanced around.

Students outside were still struggling.

Some hadn't felt anything yet.

Some were trying again and again.

Dev sat in silence.

Most people take days…

Some take weeks…

He shook his head lightly.

"No point thinking about that."

A small smile appeared.

"At least… I can move forward."

He stood up.

Thirty minutes left.

This time—

he searched differently.

Not for power.

For basics.

After a while—

he found them.

Three techniques.

Stone Body — defense.

Wind Step — movement.

Iron Finger — attack.

Simple.

Clear.

But controlled.

Dev read each one carefully.

Not rushing.

Not forcing.

Understanding.

Balance…

That word returned again.

Harmony wasn't about one thing.

It was about everything.

Mahesh—power.

Vishnu—control.

Brahma—defense and knowledge.

Harmony—

combined them all.

Dev exhaled slowly.

"…Let's see where this leads."

He placed the books back.

And walked toward the exit.

As he stepped out—

the noise returned.

The world returned.

But something had changed.

Not outside.

Inside.

For the first time—

Dev didn't feel empty.

He felt… progress.

And somewhere deep within—

that white light remained silent.

Watching.

Waiting.
