Meowth shuddered. "That's right, meow! His Charizard roasted Meowth into charcoal with one breath, meow!"

"Because of confidentiality," Ace added calmly, "my position can't be revealed casually."
He then shifted to persuasion.
"My role in Team Rocket is only one of many identities. It's far from my true standing, so you don't need to overthink it."
Hearing this, James and Meowth became even more respectful.
"James," Ace continued, "you left home because of your fiancée's coercion and your parents' suffocating elite education, giving up your dream of becoming a collector.
But is what you're doing now really what you want?"
"I…" James opened his mouth, then hesitated. He had never truly considered this before.
Ace turned to Meowth.
"Meowth, you learned to walk upright through sheer effort, even mastered human language—all to win the favor of another Meowth named Madonna.
But all your efforts were met with disgust."
"Stop talking, meowth!" Meowth snapped, pain flashing across his face.
Ace didn't stop, "You know better than anyone—she never liked you. It was just an excuse to reject you. But you foolishly kept pushing yourself."
"I said stop, meowth!!"
"Now you've even chosen to become a villain, thinking that if you force her to be yours, you'll finally be satisfied.
But if that really happened… would you truly be happy?"
"..."
Meowth fell silent.
The truth he had been avoiding was laid bare.
"You both have talent," Ace said softly. "But it hasn't been fully developed."
He shook his head regretfully.
The Team Rocket trio truly lived up to the title of cute and charming villains.
They'd done bad things—but their hearts were still precious.
