The problem was that Snake's magic power was spent, and it would take some time before he could make his escape.
He needed a mana potion. But the mana potions had all run out. His mana would recover with time, but unfortunately, time was the one thing Snake didn't have.

He needed to relay the intelligence he'd gathered to the subjugation force immediately. If he didn't, everyone could be in mortal danger.
