Chapter 355 - Chapter 354: Demon Spirit Great White Shark — Xiao Bai

Sea God Island.

This tranquil island, hidden in the vast deep ocean, had remained a sacred place in the hearts of countless sea spirit beasts and soul masters for thousands of years. After all, this was where the Sea God Poseidon left his legacy in the mortal realm.

The island was always bathed in a gentle blue sacred light, its halo nourishing every creature that lived here with the Sea God's blessing.

At this moment, in the crystal-clear waters by the offshore coral reefs, a pack of Demon Spirit Great White Sharks frolicked, idly passing the time.

Floating on the surface, the chieftain of the shark tribe—Xiao Bai—watched a few battered sharks before her with a large, intelligent eye, full of frustration.

With a cold snort, she rebuked them, "Useless! You can't even handle a tiny group of Blue Illusion Demon Octopuses, and you let them injure you! You've shamed the honor of our tribe!"

"The Sea God gave us great power and speed to uphold his glory, not for you to be bullied by those weak tentacled freaks!"

Even the smallest of these scolded sharks measured seven or eight meters long—but now they quaked like children caught misbehaving, their huge bodies trembling, dorsal fins drooping, not even daring to protest.

Within the tribe, the chieftain's authority was absolute.

Seeing their cowardly performance, Xiao Bai grew even more furious—but as leader, it was also her duty to protect her wronged kin. With a flick of her tail, showering spray, she shouted:

"Tomorrow, I'll personally lead you for revenge! Those evil soul beasts who deny the Sea God's glory have no right to dwell in his sea or enjoy his blessing!"

Just then, a somewhat awkward great white shark spoke up in a shaky voice:

"Er... Chieftain... so when will we take revenge on Demon King Orca and the others?"

The moment these words left his mouth, the ocean grew silent as death.

Xiao Bai's enormous eye froze for a heartbeat, then flared again with anger. With a fierce lash, she struck her unlucky tribesman with her massive tail, nearly the size of a small boat.

Thunk!

With a dull impact, the unfortunate shark was flung dozens of meters through the air, crashing into the sea with a towering splash.

The other sharks recoiled several meters in terror, heads dropping even lower.

Though trembling with rage, Xiao Bai cleared her throat and strove to steady herself, addressing her clan.

"Those wicked King Orca rebels turned their back on the Sea God's glory. Sooner or later, they will be punished. The Sea God never abandons his most faithful followers!"

"When the time comes, the Sea God will surely bring down divine retribution and teach those evil soul beasts a lesson they won't forget. Do you understand?!"

"Yes, Chieftain!"

The sharks answered in chorus, each fearing to be the next tossed into the sky.

The one who'd been thrown now floated dazed on the surface, his huge body shuddering in embarrassment, with small yellow droplets leaking from his side—he had actually urinated himself from the slap, making the water around him stink terribly.

Xiao Bai glared at him with disdain, then ignored him, preparing to announce her plan to teach the Blue Illusion Demon Octopuses a lesson to restore their tribe's honor.

But right at that moment—

A huge dark shadow suddenly appeared on the horizon, moving rapidly toward Sea God Island.

As it neared, it became clear these were not sea monsters or natural phenomena, but an immense fleet of human ships—so many that they seemed to blanket the sea.

"What is that...?" The sharks exchanged uneasy glances, their large eyes filled with confusion and curiosity. Foreign ships occasionally visited for pilgrimages or trade, but never had such a vast armada been seen.

"This is bad!"

Xiao Bai's huge body shook, her shark eyes instantly overflowing with dread.

This sight...why did it so closely resemble the memory from sixty years ago?!

"Stop watching! Those aren't pilgrims!" Xiao Bai's mental shout echoed urgently through the water like an alarm.

"The fleet of those blasphemers has returned to land! They're here again!"

She turned suddenly to a small and delicate shark beside her. "Xiuxiu, hurry to Sea God Island and find the Seven Pillar Guardians. Tell them—those heretics from sixty years ago, or perhaps an even stronger fleet of intruders, are attacking again. Tell them to prepare for battle at once!"

"Understood, Mom! I'm on my way!"

The small shark—named Xiuxiu—registered the seriousness of the situation immediately. She spun and shot away, silver-pink and arrow-fast, toward the heart of the island.

With her daughter out of immediate danger, Xiao Bai felt a bit relieved, but her gaze locked once more on the approaching fleet. Her shark eyes glittered with savagery.

"Brethren!" Her voice rang with fighting spirit. "The Sea God is watching over us. To defend his glory, follow me!"

"We'll let these blasphemous heretics taste the fury of the sea!"

With that, she let out a high-pitched roar, slapping her massive tail on the water, sending waves towering meters high, and charged directly at the flagship at the head of the armada.

Behind her, hundreds of terrifying sharks, inspired by their leader's courage and resolve, surged after her—leaving trails of silver-white death on the surface as they all charged menacingly toward the fleet!

On the flagship's command deck, Chen Yi and Qian Renxue stood side by side, watching the silver wave rapidly approaching from afar.

"That is..." Qian Renxue raised her brows slightly, eyeing the fins on the water with curious interest.

Chen Yi, his eyes glinting with amusement, explained coolly,

"That's the Demon Spirit Great White Shark tribe—the local guard dogs of Sea God Island. Their leader serves as Poseidon's mount: the most faithful subordinate, who for generations has defended the island and eradicated all heretics."

"So that's it—Poseidon's minions." A cold smile curled Qian Renxue's lips, killing intent briefly flashing in her golden eyes. "They want death? That can be arranged."

As they spoke, the shark pack had already reached within a kilometer of the flagship.

At the front, Xiao Bai powered forward, breaking the surface with half her massive body, revealing her ferocious head and snowy-white belly as she bellowed toward the flagship:

"Human fleet ahead, stop at once! This is the Sea God's sacred domain! Withdraw now, or you'll face the consequences!"

The initial plan was to sink a ship or two before making any threats, to display Sea God Island's might. But now, at close range, Xiao Bai keenly sensed at least ten terrifying auras aboard that black flagship—each on par with, if not stronger than, the Pillar Guardians themselves!

With no other choice, she hastily changed from threats to what was now a milder warning, only emphasizing, "the consequences will be yours."

But this was Sea God Island—her confidence was unshaken! Sixty years ago, even the servant of a god had suffered a crushing defeat here. No matter how strong the humans, sooner or later they'd have to kneel to the Sea God.

She was imagining, with pride, how these soul masters would pale, panic, and flee in terror at the Sea God's wrath...

"Shut up."

That beautiful fantasy was shattered in an instant as an indifferent voice echoed directly into the souls of Xiao Bai and all the Demon Spirit Great White Sharks!

An instant later, the phantom of an enormous golden-purple lightning mace appeared overhead, lightning crackling and swirling.

Before Xiao Bai could react, her gigantic eye only had time to reflect the oncoming thunder...

Clonk!

The illusory lightning mace merely tapped her, not even landing a solid hit—just brushing her skull.

Guhh...

Her enormous body froze abruptly. For one terrifying moment, movement, thought, and soul power all stopped. A wave of indescribable agony instantly racked her body.

Ssss...sss...sss...

A shameful sound accompanied a yellow liquid seeping from Xiao Bai's sleek silver-white body, quickly staining the water around her and filling the air with a pungent fishy odor.

Her sharp gaze lost focus, her massive body going limp, floating belly-up in the water like a dead fish, drifting up and down with the waves.

The sharks around her stared in dazed horror, witnessing their once-invincible leader now floating like a pickled fish, yellowish water wafting from beneath.

For a moment, all minds went blank. Even instinct to flee was forgotten.

At that moment, a gigantic lightning-gold hand, condensed from purple-gold thunder, reached out from the flagship, scooping up the defenseless Xiao Bai.

And the cold, indifferent voice boomed again over the sea:

"You've said enough rubbish."

"Kill them all."

"Keep any soul bones that drop for yourselves."

Fwoosh! Fwoosh! Fwoosh! Fwoosh!

As those words fell, beams of dazzling light shot out from the ship.

The massacre began.
