Konrad Curze, the former Primarch of the Night Lords, now emerged from ten thousand years of confinement in the Imperial Palace's dungeon, standing there in a fitted black suit, like a Western lawyer who had just finished a court session.
His face no longer bore the frenzied grimace of old, but rather a calm yet chilling melancholy. His dark short hair was neatly combed, and his gaze was as sharp as a blade, as if it could see through everything.
Li Feng slightly turned his body and gestured to him, meaning: "Do you want to come up and make an appearance too?"
Although Konrad Curze's return was not planned, his return would be announced sooner or later, so why not now.
Konrad Curze stood there, contemplating for a second, then slowly raised his head and nodded at Li Feng. His steps were light and steady, as if each step landed deep within people's hearts. As he approached, the crowd below gradually quieted down.
The moment Konrad Curze stepped out of the shadows and onto the parade stand, the atmosphere in the plaza abruptly changed. An indescribable sense of oppression swept through the entire venue; the previous cheers gradually faded, replaced by suppressed whispers and nervous gasps.
Konrad Curze stood on the stage, his posture straight, his gaze sweeping over the crowd below with a faint detachment and scrutiny. His presence was utterly different from that of Jaghatai Khan and Leman Russ; if the Khan and Russ symbolized hope and light, then Konrad Curze's aura was one of coldness and rationality born from darkness.
"Is that... a Night Lord?"
"Konrad Curze! How could he be here?"
"The traitor has returned... Is this true?"
The High Lords and Space Marine couldn't help but whisper among themselves, and the members of the High Lords Council all had solemn expressions; clearly, Konrad Curze's appearance was difficult for them to accept.
The Ecclesiarch whispered a prayer: "Emperor... is this your test?"
The Minister of the Interior's eyes widened, and he said indignantly: "This is what you call the return of the sons? Can a traitor stand here so openly?"
The Grand Master of the Officio Assassinorum's eyes were sharp as he stared at Konrad Curze, muttering to himself: "This man... has he truly escaped his madness?"
Jaghatai Khan and Leman Russ stood to the side, their gazes fixed on Konrad Curze, their expressions differing.
Russ raised an eyebrow slightly, a faint smile playing on his lips, seemingly unsurprised by Konrad Curze's appearance. The Khan, however, narrowed his eyes slightly, beginning to ponder the deeper meaning of Li Feng's actions.
Li Feng, meanwhile, looked relaxed, standing in the center of the stage, raising his hand to signal the crowd to quiet down. He said in a firm voice:
"Many of you may not know him, so let me introduce him to everyone! He is Konrad Bruce Wayne Konrad Curze! He is a son of the Emperor, the Primarch of the Night Lords, the batman of the Imperium."
