"That went better than I expected..." Arthur muttered when they went downstairs after safely tucking Hannah to sleep. They stayed with her, reading her bedtime stories and patting her side until she fell asleep completely. "We were worried so much too."
They had imagined all kinds of worst-case scenarios, like their girl running in anger or getting all sulky and refusing to talk to them. But the girl was calmer than they expected, confused even. She was more excited about the notion of becoming a 'big sister' than anything.
"Well, she's fine now," Eugene said. Despite the good outcome, he still sounded worried. "We don't know if she'll be fine later, when the baby's here."
Arthur raised his brows, following his husband to the kitchen. He watched his husband reach for a pickle jar like it was a habit, even though Eugene said he didn't have nausea or anything. Perhaps the pregnancy just amped the omega's penchant for extreme taste.
