Chapter 300 - Chapter 300. Guardian Fairies

The sky was blue, and the sun was shining nicely as if giving its best blessing to the birthday boy. Had Ian felt less nervous, he would have very much appreciated how the sunlight framed the Wynne House in such a warm way, making it look absolutely cozy and inviting. 

With his stomach twisting this way and that way, he could only see the house as a menacing entity. 

"Dad, are you okay?" Eugene whispered so Hannah, who was riding in front this time, wouldn't hear them.

Ian swallowed hard, but also nodded firmly. "Yeah, I'm okay."

Strangely enough, it wasn't fear. He could tell because he didn't see a gaping abyss trying to swallow him, unlike before. It was just pure nervousness.

"I mean..." Ian smiled helplessly at his son. "I felt the same way when Jacob brought me to his parents' house for the first time."
