Eugene couldn't respond for almost five seconds, mind whirring chaotically. Thankfully, the waiter was still there.
"He...did?" Eugene swallowed dryly. "Since when?"
"Since the last time you were here? I think he returned the next day, giving us this quest," the waiter chuckled. "He'd call us to confirm every month at first for around three years, and then every three months, and then twice a year."
Eugene's hand crept toward one of the cocktail glasses, thinking he should have ordered a straight gin instead.
"Haven't got any calls this year, though," the waiter added while stroking his chin to recall. "Oh, should I call him to tell him you're finally here? Only if you agree, of course."
"Ah..."
Looking at Eugene's dazed expression, the waiter thought the omega was hesitating. "Well, just tell me if you want me to call him," he whispered in understanding. "Or if you want me to tell him to stop asking--your choice."
