Just as fierce battles were raging in orbit and on the plains, Queen Amidala's capture squad had already entered the city of Theed.
Several STAPs were patrolling the city, and two AAT tanks were left to guard the Royal Palace.
Queen Amidala, Kote, and Obi-Wan secretly snuck into the hangar, while the rest of the people attracted the attention of the droid forces in Theed Plaza.
"When you go in, find a place to hide," Kote said to Anakin.
Anakin nodded, indicating he understood, and that he would make a big impact later.
Watching Anakin nod, Kote and Obi-Wan drew their lightsabers, first covering the Queen and the others as they rushed into the hangar.
As the large door opened, the droids inside immediately counterattacked.
Padmé led the pilots, charging in first.
"Quick, get to the fighters!" Padmé's blaster continuously fired at the droids.
Anakin, as Kote had instructed, hid in a corner, while Kote, currently disguised as Qui-Gon, charged directly into the enemy ranks with his lightsaber.
The pilots immediately boarded the Naboo N-1 Starfighters, heading into space to assist the Mandalore fleet.
As each N-1 successfully took off, the entire hangar was captured, and Anakin and R2 hid in one of the fighters.
Afterward, everyone prepared to go inside the Royal Palace to capture Governor Gunray.
"What about me?" Anakin asked.
"Stay hidden," Kote replied, but at that moment, the hangar door suddenly opened, revealing a Zabrak wearing a black hood, with spikes on his head and tattoos on his face—the Sith Lord, Darth Maul!
At this moment, Darth Maul was much stronger than he was in the movie; his legs were already mechanical, and he stood over 1.9 meters tall. His power was filled with resentment towards Kote and the Jedi, which made him even more powerful.
"Jedi!" Maul took off his outer garment, which would hinder his combat, and drew his newly crafted double-bladed lightsaber.
"Hum!" Instantly, red blades emerged from both sides of the hilt.
Kote and Obi-Wan were already prepared for the confrontation, both sensing Maul's immense power.
Kote was startled, never expecting this guy to get stronger after a near-death experience, just like a Saiyan. Is this the true power of the Dark Side?
Obi-Wan's forehead was covered in cold sweat; he couldn't believe Kote had defeated this monster. The power of the Dark Side was even stronger than Great Master Qui-Gon. Could he and his Master truly defeat this Sith? Obi-Wan couldn't help but wonder.
Just then, three Destroyer Droids appeared from behind, blocking Padmé and the others.
Seeing this, Anakin discussed with R2 what they should do.
"It seems you are that Sith," Kote said, drawing Qui-Gon's lightsaber and confronting Maul.
Maul said nothing, his only thought being to kill the two Jedi in front of him and complete his Master's mission.
Maul wielded his double-bladed lightsaber incredibly fast, easily parrying attacks from both sides, even when facing two opponents.
He even had energy to spare.
Kote realized that using Qui-Gon's power alone was not enough to fight Maul, even with Obi-Wan joining him. Maul was even stronger after having died once.
The battle moved from the spacious hangar to the narrow and dangerous generator core. As the Master and apprentice fought Maul, Obi-Wan was kicked down, but he managed to grab onto the edge of a bridge.
"Damn it!" Seeing this, Kote changed his lightsaber form, adopting a style more suited to him, using immense power to suppress Maul.
With a heavy blow, Maul was sent crashing onto a bridge below.
Kote quickly pulled Obi-Wan up. After all, this was the real Universe, not a movie; a small accident could easily lead to a person's death and a different future.
Immediately, the two regrouped and confronted Maul again, but Maul fully utilized the surrounding environment, retreating backward, trying to split their battlefield to defeat them one by one.
Soon, the three pursuing Maul were trapped within energy shields, unable to continue fighting.
"Your life will soon end, Jedi, and next will be everyone in the Jedi Order," Maul said fiercely, looking at Kote, who was disguised as Qui-Gon.
"Is that so? You defeated opponent," Kote whispered, and the shield lowered.
But Maul's eyes immediately gleamed, his power grew even stronger, and he shouted, "Die!" as he powerfully swung his lightsaber downwards.
Kote saw that his plan had succeeded; now it was time for the curtain to fall, for Great Master Qui-Gon to disappear.
Obi-Wan, behind the shield, was anxious, wanting to help Kote, who was now at a disadvantage.
Kote feigned defeat, but seized an opportunity to instantly cut Maul's body in half. However, Maul's attack was also very strong, and he impaled Kote's body with a lightsaber.
Kote lay on the ground, using The Force to heal his body. Obi-Wan, whose mind was consumed by anger, rushed in.
But Maul had clearly Cultivated how to fight with only half a body.
Even with only half a body, he stalemated Obi-Wan for a long time. Kote couldn't stand it, so he used his physical strength to stand up and directly carried Maul, rushing down into the bottomless pit.
A second before falling, he shouted, "You must train Anakin with Kote! He will bring balance! You must!"
Obi-Wan knelt on the ground, watching the two fall, and yelled into the bottomless pit, "No!"
Even if he wanted to save Qui-Gon, he had no way to do so, and could only nod helplessly.
In the bottomless pit, Kote directly threw Maul's severed body down, while he activated his magnetic boots and stood on the wall of the bottomless pit. Even so, the wound on his body still throbbed faintly. He had taken a lightsaber blow; if it hadn't been his stomach but another place, he might have been in serious trouble.
But fortunately, his power in The Force was very strong, and even such a wound could be healed. However, Kote also had a backup plan: nano-medical robots, a common medical method in the Galaxy, almost like black technology.
After waiting a few minutes and confirming through The Force that no one was above, Kote climbed up. He changed out of Qui-Gon's clothes, threw them down, and, wearing his undershirt, reverted to his original appearance. He lay on the ground to rest for a while, then immediately sent for his own attire to be brought over.
Meanwhile, the entire battle of Naboo had ended. Gunray was captured by Padmé, and the Republic had completed the selection of a new Chancellor. As expected, the final result was Sheev Palpatine.
At this time, Kote put on his armor, but his face was still terribly pale.
Attending Qui-Gon's funeral when night fell was also very fitting for his current condition.
"How are you, Kote?" Obi-Wan asked with concern, looking at Kote's pale face. He didn't want his Master to return to The Force and his brother to also suffer great harm.
"Nothing, I'm just too sad to hear this news. I didn't expect that I changed nothing," Kote said miserably.
Obi-Wan quickly comforted him, "Don't be like that, Kote, none of this is your fault, it's the Sith's."
Kote nodded, looking at the people burning Qui-Gon's personal belongings, but his heart was still relatively happy; at least he had changed Qui-Gon's future.
He also let the entire Galaxy know that Mandalore had an army that could fight the Trade Federation.
