Chapter 86 - Episode 85 - Synchronized awakening with the urge to spar

The lab is quiet, filled only with the hum of Bulma's machines. Chichi and Snow are still mid-argument with the small crowd of people when the heart monitors suddenly flatline—not because they died, but because their heartbeats have synced into one single, rhythmic thrum that the machines can't read separately. Their eyes flicker open, but neither of them looks at their mothers. They looked straight at Goku and Vegeta, the strongest in the room.

Goten: The gravity here... *Goten voiced.*

Melody: ...is too light. *Melody continued in a soft flowy tone.*

G&M: *Before completing their sentence in unison.* Fix it. Or we will.

Goku and Vegeta exchanged a glance—those weren't the voices of the kids they know. Not quite. Their tones were deeper, calmer, darker… More Saiyan.

Chichi: *Chichi paled even further.* W-What's wrong with them?!

Apart from the tail that Melody didn't have before, Snow hardly recognized her own daughter looking into those striking purple eyes. Chichi, however, didn't recognize her baby at all. Goten and Melody slowly sat up—their movements eerily synchronized, like twin predators waking from a very long nap. Their tails swayed lazily behind them, white as fresh snow. Their eyes—no longer human—locked onto the Saiyans in the room. Vegeta felt a weird pang of pride, and neither of the kids is even his. For a moment he wished that it could have been Trunks, but he doesn't let this slip, Bulma would surely kill him, or try to at least. They looked… properly Saiyan now. Goten and Melody stood in unison, stretching their limbs with a grace that didn't match their usual clumsy selves.

Melody: *She turned to Snow first—her mother's tearful face making her pause. But only for a second.* Mom, *she said flatly,* I feel… different. Do I look different too? *Melody asked but her question seems to lack any real emotion.*

Goten: *Goten turns towards Chichi, her cheeks wet with tears.* Mom, why are you crying? Did someone die? *Goten ask with as much emotion than a rock.*

Chichi: *She sobbed harder, clutching Goten's face.* Y-You're all white! And you have a tail! And—your eyes—!

Snow reached for Melody, but the girl stepped back slightly—not aggressive, just… detached.

Goku: Uhm, Chichi, he always had a tail, you know that, *Goku subtly corrected his wife.*

Chichi: *Chichi froze, blinking through her tears.* ...Wait. He did?

Goten: *He tilted his head—the first real emotion flickering across his face: mild annoyance.* You never noticed?

In all their live together, Chichi had never been this quiet before. 'Oh, I guess she hadn't noticed,' Goku thought to himself as he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

Goten: Enough catching up; we... *Goten started.*

Melody: *But just like before Melody finished his statement in a kinda grace that wasn't quite herself.* ....want to spar.

G&M: *Again they ended in unison.* Now...!

Goku and Vegeta's eyes lit up at the same time.

Vegeta: Now that's what I'm talking about! *Vegeta grinned, cracking his knuckles.*

Goten and Melody were already moving toward the training room—their steps in perfect sync, tails swaying behind them like twin banners of their newfound Saiyan power.

Bulma: *She cleared her throat, before saying.* Take it outside, I prefer my home in one piece.

Vegeta: *The Prince of all Saiyans scoffed but nodded.* Fine. Outside it is.

Goku: *He grinned, already heading for the door.* C'mon—let's see what these two can really do!
