Chen Wei's legs folded first.
And everyone watched in horror as his knees buckled without warning, as if someone had cut the strings holding him upright.
Then his torso followed, collapsing in a loose heap against the ground, his arms lay at his sides, fingers twitching once before falling still.
His head lolled forward, chin touching his chest, but his eyes remained open.
Nicholas dropped the blade and smiled down at Chen Wei's crumbled form.
"You can still breathe…" Nicholas said slowly but before he could finish his sentence he was tackled to the ground by Chen Wei's guards.
Then they forced him on his front. They hand cuffed him before dragging him and forcing him to sit upright.
The leader of the guards shouted at scientists, "What the fuck are you fools waiting for?"
Now that they had neutralised the threat it was time to treat their boss especially since there only seem to be a small cut in his neck.
'This stupid overfed second generations overreact to everything.' Chu Yang sighed as he glanced at the body of the man he was supposed to protect.
'This is going to be a stain on my peerless record… this fool just charged without even a warning.' Chu Yang almost face palmed.
His eyes moved to the scientists moving around Chen Wei's body trying to treat him.
His face dropped when he realised their face looked unnaturally.
"What… What is wrong?" He asked impatiently... Almost scared to hear the bad news.
"Do you know the best way to punish such a man?" Nicholas voice dragged his attention away from the scientists working on Chen Wei's body... They weren't giving him the answer anyway.
"Is that poison… what did you do?" Chu Yang asked Nicholas.
Nicholas answered his own question ignoring Chu Yang's. "The best way to punish such a man is to trap him in his own body."
Chu Yang frowned confused but before he could ask again, Nicholas answered, "I severed his spinal cord… He can still breath and talk although very lightly, but he can never move the rest of his body ever again."
Chu Yang eyes widened… he finally understood what Nicholas planned.
"By the way there is a bomb rigged all around the lab that will blow up in…" Nicholas glanced at Chu Yang's watch, "Less than ten minutes now."
Everyone froze and glanced at him… even the scientists trying to help Chen Wei through his spinal shock.
"SHIT!!! You have to stop this madness." One of the scientists immediately began swearing.
"Yes please… be a bigger man and just let us leave." Another begged.
There was simply no way for them to clear the building in less than ten minutes.
"Where is the detonation remote?" Chu Yang demanded.
"Just kidding." Nicholas chuckled, "I just enjoy seeing the fear in your eyes."
At this point, Chu Yang couldn't tell whether he was joking or not.
He went as far as to cripple his boss for no apparent reason... There was no telling what such an insane man would do.
"I mean I have seen several employees react to been fired but this seems like an over reaction to me especially after you have already fucked him over." Chu Yang began.
"Just tell me the truth, did you really destroy the entire research, or you were just joking about that?"
Nicholas chuckled but he didn't bother answering.
"You know you will be tortured right… just for destroying the entire research. And you did not help your case by crippling your boss and dropping bomb threats." Chu Yang explained.
"I see… so while you were indeed sent here as a guard, your main objective was to retrieve my research." Nicholas stated his observations.
Chu Yang did not respond but Nicholas did not need him to.
"Oh well fuck you… I am guessing one of the governments… your English is way too good for you to be sent by the Chinese."
"My English is the reason you think I am not sent by the Chinese government?" Chu Yang asked confused.
"Oh please… I have lived among these people for more than a decade although you look every bit a copy as the rest of them and even have their name…" Nicholas squinted at his badge, "Chu Yang… it quite obvious to me that you are not."
"For one… they love the sound of their language far too much, not to mention you don't seem to be a rice eater… you seem like a beef kind of man to me."
"You fucking bitch." Chu Yang snapped.
"Oh, I see… American… I should have expected as much." Nicholas chuckled, "I don't even know why I am surprised… what are you going to claim the noble reason for wanting to steal my research?"
Chu Yang was about to snap when he suddenly realised something, Nicholas was trying to rile him up.
'But why?'
"You know your actions and words are just going to make your torture far worse right?"
"I know but I don't care."
"Do you think you are immune to pain just because you managed to create a couple of genetically enhanced children?" Chu Yang asked.
"Nope."
"Then why?"
"Because of this." Nicholas smiled before raising up his hands.
Chu Yang's eyes widened when he realised the issue… the handcuff was gone.
"How did you get out of… "
"The handcuff? … Oh, I promise you that is not even the crazy part." Nicholas smiled and his hands suddenly moved behind him before suddenly reappearing with a black item. "I have your gun."
"He has a gun!!!" One of the guards shouted and the others immediately reacted pulling out their guns as well and aiming it at Nicholas.
'When did he even get my gun?' Chu Yang wondered as he reached for his holster.
He felt something, 'This fucking… wait my gun is still here so what is he…'
"I won," Nicholas moved to press the trigger on his gun.
"Wait don't shoooooooot!!!" Chu Yang shouted.
But it was too late.
His men opened fire on Nicholas, riddling his body with bullet holes, killing him instantly.
Chu Yang glanced at the body; he didn't even bother trying to save him… With the number of holes in his body, he might as well be a net.
He reached down and picked up Nicholas's 'gun'.
'Seriously… we fell for a cell phone… really?' Chu Yang sighed.
Suddenly an explosion rocked the entire building throwing everyone of balance.
'Oh, for fuck's sake… the bomb wasn't a lie.' Chu Yang just closed his eyes and gave up.
The pain he was expecting didn't come, suddenly he heard the voice of one of his men.
"Boss… What do we do?"
'The explosion didn't reach us?' Chu Yang questioned himself, he looked around to take stock of his damage.
He suddenly frowned when he realised that although the explosion was a lot, the damage to the building itself wasn't that much.
"Shit he just exposed the location of the lab!!!" One of the scientists shouted. "Everyone knows exactly where we are."
"Oh shit."
