Chapter 163 - The Broadcast

The heroes were still processing everything they'd learned when a violent alarm tore through the ruined metro city. Everyone jolted, instinct taking over. Hands snapped to nearby weapons, boots hit the ground, and they rushed outside as the siren echoed across the shattered skyline. Luke squinted upward.

"What is that?" Before anyone could answer, the sky flickered and a massive screen materialized above the ruins, large enough for the entire city to see. Light froze, his face draining."No… it can't be." Ice glanced at him, confused, but then the screen shifted.A man appeared terrified, trembling, clutching a script. His voice cracked.

"A message to all humanity… The final battle is here."The heroes stiffened."Winner takes Earth. Meet at New Heaven City. The battle of will begins one month from today. The Supreme says this time is given so you may prepare your troops." The man's hands shook. The script slipped from his fingers and fluttered out of frame. His eyes filled with water. "Please… heroes… help us." Suddenly a figure lunged into view a man with wild, chaotic hair and a grin carved too wide across his face. He seized the speaker by the jaw, forcing his head back. In his other hand gleamed a cruel metal tool. The man screamed raw, terrified as the crazy‑haired figure laughed. A loud, jagged, clown‑like laugh that sliced through the city like a blade. Riot felt goosebumps crawl up his arms.

Anger surged in his chest. The screen snapped off. Silence swallowed the heroes. They looked at each other every face carrying the same exhausted fury until Kwame finally exhaled."I'm tired of this shit. I'm ready for that battle."Toa nodded. "Likewise." Ice stepped forward. "I'm with you."Thomas raised his hand. "Me too."Sophie smirked softly. "Do you even gotta ask?" Luke said One by one, they placed their hands in the middle.

All except Riot, was still staring at the sky, jaw tight, eyes wet. Thomas called gently. "Riot?" Riot blinked, looked at them and they saw it. The fire. The hurt. The resolve. He stepped forward and placed his hand with theirs.Thomas whispered, voice steady and full of purpose:

"For humanity."And together, in perfect sync, they roared: "For humanity!"
