His shout rang across the arena furiously, filled with venom.
Tom, Sierra, and Farid looked at him. Each of them held their own thoughts in silence. None of them said anything, but the outcome of the battle had already been decided.
At the same instant, three separate devices chimed at their belts.
Each of them checked their communication channels.
The same voice note played into each of their ears.
"Attack has ceased across all zones. Dark organization forces have been eliminated or have retreated. Ground engagements are winding down across the city. Casualty reports incoming."
They looked at each other.
