Across the arena, Alaric parried Ace's dagger and caught a brief glimpse of Yoha rising from the crater with a different goal in mind.
"Seems like two Surpassers wasn't enough to deal with him."
Ace's dagger scraped along Alaric's blade. His head tilted slightly to look past Alaric's shoulder, confirming what he had already sensed.
He sighed.
"Seems like it."
Their blades came apart. Both of them reset stances. The exchange continued without either of them commenting further.
In another part of the arena, Baaron saw it.
Yoha, one of his own trusted subordinates, had just flipped his allegiance in the middle of the battlefield. To Baaron, who had known Yoha for over a decade, knew this was one of Moon's tricks.
His grip on his cleaver tightened until his knuckles cracked.
