Chapter 342 - Chapter 340 The favored person's grades are very mediocre.

The favored person's grades are very mediocre.

What exactly do "grades" refer to? Are they regular test scores, or special exam scores like the island special exam that just ended, which had a developmental intent?

Amane personally leaned towards the former, but the wording on this slip of paper was very imprecise, easily leading to different interpretations.

Especially the word "mediocre" at the end.

Initially, Amane didn't find anything wrong with the word "mediocre," but as she began to ponder the specific meaning of "grades," she also discovered the nuances of the word "mediocre."

What does it mean to be mediocre? And compared to whom is one considered mediocre?

To give a specific example, if grades refer to exam scores, then mediocre grades in Class D would refer to the large group of students whose scores hover around fifty points.

In daily quizzes and mid-term/final exams, those who score above seventy points on average in Class D are fewer than ten.

So, for Class D, mediocre grades would be around fifty points.

But if it were Class A, those scoring below seventy points would be extremely rare. Amane once heard Sakayanagi mention that only three people in Class A could score below 70 points, and their scores differed too greatly from the honor students, so they couldn't be considered in the mediocre tier.

According to Class A's situation, students with an average score of 80 points would probably be considered mediocre.

Amane now completely understood the meaning of this slip of paper. To put it plainly, this slip was deliberately described with such vague terms, its purpose being to create an ambiguous illusion and attempt to interfere with the ghost card holder's judgment.

As expected, she couldn't count on information slips to bring any surprises.

Amane carefully stored the slip of paper, then planned to head to the cafeteria for some dinner. The first day of the special exam was over just like that.

Just as Amane was humming a tune and walking down the corridor, the school broadcast suddenly echoed throughout the entire corridor.

"The Monkey Group's exam has concluded. Monkey Group students do not need to participate in further exams. Please proceed with caution and do not disturb other students."

The Monkey Group's exam was over?

Amane stopped, somewhat surprised.

Out of twelve groups in total, one-sixth were eliminated on the first day, and this happened when there was no hint about the favored person's identity, most likely meaning the favored person's name was directly drawn and discovered.

Such an event was an unexpected disaster for any class.

You can't blame others for having good luck in a purely luck-based draw, can you?

Just as Amane was about to inquire about the Monkey Group's situation, a fierce argument erupted at the entrance of the Monkey Group's meeting room.

From a distance, Katsuragi's distinctive bald head, coupled with his livid expression, clearly indicated that Lady Luck had not favored Class A this time.

Compared to Katsuragi, Manabe, who was next to him, emotionally shouting, seemed to be accusing someone.

Recalling the situation with Horikita, could Manabe be the favored person who was accidentally discovered by someone, and then, like Yukimura, collapsed, unable to accept reality? But it didn't quite look like that.

Amane walked towards the crowd.

Leaning against the door, a blond young man was adjusting his hairstyle in a mirror while completely ignoring Manabe, who was loudly scolding him.

When Amane finally squeezed to the innermost part, just as she was about to ask what had happened, she heard Manabe's jaw-dropping statement.

"Koenji, you bastard, why aren't you speaking? We're all ghost card holders, the draw is completely up to luck, but you shameless guy actually peeked at my slip of paper and submitted the answer first! I'm going to report your despicable behavior to the school!"

Peeking?

What kind of game was Koenji playing?

I have something to do tonight and need to go to the hospital, possibly staying overnight. I'm taking a day off. Tomorrow's update will be normal, and I'll make up for today's. If I have extra time, I'll add more updates.

Things have been quite busy recently. As a student, I have final exams this month and need to shift my focus to revision. While maintaining two stable updates daily, there might not be many extra updates. After the exams end in the latter half of the month, I will gradually start adding more updates. Thank you all for your continuous support.

Next, regarding this Classroom of the Elite fanfiction, I want to share how I view this work from my perspective.

Firstly, this is the first book the author has written. This isn't a throwaway account; I only have this one. It's inevitable for a newcomer to have some shortcomings in their first work. With my current ability and writing style, it's a bit difficult to manage a long novel, but I've been diligently learning and improving while writing this fanfiction. As my first book, it will definitely conclude normally, and the estimated word count is conservatively around two million words. The current framework is set in the first semester of the second year. Since I started writing this book until now, I've only taken two leaves of absence in several months, both due to force majeure, so updates are very stable, and you can follow it with confidence.

Secondly, the author has read and loves Classroom of the Elite; otherwise, it would be impossible to start a fanfiction for it. If I wanted to just use the setting superficially, I could write about the 'Big Three' of Cat Station, and even if it's poorly written, people would still read it. But I believe that perfunctory writing is disrespectful to paying readers. My writing style might not be that great, but I would never write carelessly or perfunctorily to readers, because I know that being perfunctory with readers is being perfunctory with myself.

As for why some people ask why many parts don't conform to the original work, many things can only be said with spoilers, so I can only restrain myself. If I absolutely have to give a reason, it would be the butterfly effect. Amane is surrounded by a group of people who experience joy, anger, sorrow, and have their own little thoughts, not just background NPCs. Their experiences and backgrounds are also very different from the original work, so there will definitely be different manifestations. That's probably all I can say.

Also, regarding the'sticking together' issue, it's not that I don't want to add content in that area, but there's a strict crackdown recently. Cat Station is being scrutinized even more due to some issues. Although chapter 279 was unblocked, it has actually been changed beyond recognition. From one chapter needing to be revised more than twenty times to avoid a single word, to finally having to delete it, you can see the current intensity. So, I can only take it slow. The author knows what readers want to see, but some things cannot be written, and the author is also very distressed. Some people suggested creating a group, but as a student, the author currently lacks the energy to manage a reader group, and future creations may not necessarily be in the 'yuri' direction, which might lead to unpleasant feelings for everyone. Therefore, there are no plans to create a group for this book at present. I am truly very sorry.

Finally, I am very grateful to everyone who has supported me until now. As a newcomer, I will continuously strive to practice my writing skills in the subsequent creative process, hoping that by the time this book concludes, everyone will see my progress.

Keep it up!!

se two were also acting like good children, no longer arguing, they all coincidentally lowered their heads and played on their phones.

When the bell for the end of the discussion sounded, they all got up and left.

It was as if their coming here was merely going through the motions.
