With them paired into units of three and four, they were able to combine their individual abilities to fight them off.
Lucien who had Alcione on his right and Matthias on his left, charged in as a level six monster came straight for them.
The creature moved fast for something its size.
Too fast.
Its body dragged across the ground in uneven, jerking motions, limbs scraping against concrete as its maw split wide open in a terrifyingly unnatural way, dripping with something thick and dark.
"This guy is spitting venom," Alcione muttered with disbelief.
As if on cue, it spat.
A pressurized stream shot toward them, hissing as it cut through the air.
Lucien didn't slow. "Now."
Alcione slammed his foot down and the ground answered in kind.
