"I can't believe they're sending us on another mission after that clusterfuck of an assembly," Alexandria said as she strapped on her protective gear.
"It's not like we're the ones who were directly affected by the news. Why the hell would they stop us from doing our job now?" Killian replied incredulously.
Alexandria rolled her eyes as she lifted her arms, tying her green tresses into a low braid. "So heartless."
Lucien ignored the chatter around him as he looked down, checking his levels. He realized he was in need of some extra juice, especially since he hadn't gotten any anchoring in some time.
Alcione hovered behind him before leaning in, his right brow lifting in surprise.
"I suggest you call your Anchor out here and get topped up. We need you at full strength, Cap."
He rolled his eyes. He didn't need the reminder. He was well aware.
