Elion looked around at their expressions and sighed.
"I did not come here to compare ages, titles, or see who can glare the hardest," he said. "Celeste is undergoing an important bloodline trial, and considering the auspicious signs connected to her that I have been seeing as of late, it's only natural that I be concerned about her well-being above everything else."
His gaze sharpened. "So forgive me if I care more about seeing her than properly admiring the grandeur of everyone standing in this room."
His tone had remained calm, but there was a seriousness beneath it that caught several elders off guard.
Morgana's expression changed as a hint of softness made its way onto her features. Oberon still looked displeased, but even he could no longer dismiss Elion's words as simple arrogance.
Dorian finally stepped forward; he also understood that he had to intervene before things got out of hand.
