He turned the horse around at her words.
The Claire he knew could have easily walked - she was stubborn enough to to do so.
But she didn't.
Could it be that she wanted him too? The thought brought a smirk to his lips.
When he glanced up at the sky, the weather looked uncertain.
He trotted towards her slowly, savouring the way her face kept getting sour and sour by the hour.
But despite her expression, her face was flushed from embarrassment… and something else perhaps?
He could not forget the way her whole face reddened when he told her of his reward.
Yeren doubted Aldrich could get such a reaction from just teasing her.
In fact, he doubted Aldrich could get anything out of her at all.
Or was that just what he wanted to believe?
When he neared her, he grinned down at her.
"It's nice to see that your pride can be weakened."
Her eyes narrowed to slits.
"How do you feel trampling upon a woman's dignity like this?"
"Trampling upon your dignity?" He scoffed.
