A week later, Setsuna brought Tien and the others back to King Kai's planet.
King Kai was sitting in his little car, listening to the radio. Seeing Setsuna and the others suddenly appear, King Kai let out a weary sigh.
'Was my planet a public restroom? Come and go as they pleased?'
"King Kai!" Tien and the others bowed respectfully.
Setsuna got straight to the point: "King Kai, I'd like to ask you to organize a [Martial Arts Tournament in the Afterlife] to promote martial arts exchange between the different galaxies."
King Kai stroked his round chin upon hearing this, thought for a few seconds, and then nodded: "That's a good idea. Martial strength in the afterlife has stagnated for too long. Take Frieza, for example: even without a body, he was able to wreak havoc in the afterlife. No one in our North Galaxy's afterlife was his match. We had to borrow their strongest warrior from the West Galaxy to suppress Frieza."
Setsuna smiled: "King Kai, why didn't you come to me? I'm from the North Galaxy, after all."
"Haha, no need to trouble you with such a small matter." King Kai gave an awkward smile. Could he say that he actually felt Setsuna was more dangerous than Frieza?
Setsuna didn't press further, just gave a meaningful smile: "The strength of the afterlife really should be improved. For now, it's just Frieza. If someone even stronger than Frieza appears in the future, that would be a real problem."
"Haha, impossible." King Kai laughed heartily. "Frieza is the Emperor of the Universe. Apart from you, how could there be anyone stronger than him?"
Setsuna's expression was one of pity. For now, it was just Frieza. Later, it might be Cell, Kid Buu, Moro, and so on. He wondered if the afterlife could withstand them.
As he spoke, King Kai suddenly remembered something and warned: "Oh, by the way, Setsuna, many of the martial artists in the afterlife have special permission to keep their bodies for training. If you don't have a body, fighting them might put you at a disadvantage."
Setsuna smiled: "For me, having unfavorable conditions is actually better. Otherwise, there might be no one in the afterlife who could give me a challenge."
King Kai nodded slightly: "True. With your strength, if you had your physical body, even Pikkon from the West Galaxy would probably be far from your match. I'll handle the communication and preparations for the tournament. It should be ready in a year or two..."
Setsuna was a bit speechless: "Does it really take that long?"
King Kai sighed: "I can't help it. We gods also have to follow procedures and regulations. First, we need to draft a formal application detailing the purpose, significance, feasibility, emergency plans, and so on for holding a martial arts tournament in the afterlife. Then, the application is submitted up the chain. After the Grand Kai approves, the relevant directives and documents are issued down the chain. Finally, we prepare the tournament according to the spirit of the documents... Going through the whole process, one or two years is the fastest we can expect."
Setsuna was silent. This felt awfully familiar: "Alright, I'll leave it to King Kai to notify me when the time comes."
King Kai nodded repeatedly: "Definitely."
...
A year and a half passed quietly amidst relatively peaceful training.
One day, a powerful and evil Ki, like a black meteor, broke through Earth's atmosphere without warning and entered.
"This Ki is so evil, but so strong!" Goku, training on Mount Paozu, looked up sharply, excitement flashing in his eyes.
"Hmph, another fool seeking death has arrived?" Vegeta stopped his training in the gravity room, a slight smile curving his lips.
Z-Fighters scattered across Earth simultaneously rushed towards the location where the Ki was descending.
Soon, above a barren wasteland, they saw a sinister-looking spaceship with its hatch already open. A cold figure, resembling a larger version of Frieza, stepped out of the hatch, followed by several aliens in Frieza Force uniforms.
"Frieza?" Vegeta's expression changed drastically, but he quickly realized: "No, you're not Frieza!"
The figure snorted coldly: "Hmph, Frieza is my son. I am his father, King Cold! I've come to destroy this damned planet of yours and avenge my poor son!"
He didn't hide his intentions, his tone dripping with killing intent.
"Setsuna," Krillin nervously swallowed, looking at the calm Setsuna beside him, "Can you handle him?"
Setsuna didn't even bother to look at King Cold, simply saying calmly: "Don't worry. He's not even as strong as Frieza."
"Huh?" Krillin was shocked. "Then where does he get the nerve to come to Earth for revenge?"
Setsuna's gaze was playful, sweeping over the few trembling aliens behind King Cold: "Probably the remnants of the Frieza Force who escaped from Namek back then thought I and Frieza died together? So they dared to bring Frieza's father here?"
Sure enough, a small leader behind King Cold suddenly pointed at Setsuna and screamed in terror: "King Cold-sama! It was him! He was fighting Frieza-sama! We saw them blow up Namek with our own eyes!"
"What?" The cold, arrogant expression on King Cold's face instantly froze. He spun around, staring fixedly at the subordinate who had spoken, fire practically shooting from his eyes.
"This fool! Didn't he say the one who fought Frieza was dead? How is he standing here alive and well? And looking completely unharmed?"
An immense sense of being deceived and in danger surged through King Cold. He knew his son's strength well. Although his son had never trained, his power far exceeded his own. If he had known this person was alive, he would have brought his other son along.
Finally, he forced out a smile more awkward than a grimace, his tone becoming extremely 'friendly': "Haha, misunderstanding! All a misunderstanding! Actually, I came to bring warmth to Earth. I heard Earth has beautiful scenery and warm-hearted people, so I made a special 'friendly visit'! Don't mind me, I'll leave now, right away!"
With that, he turned to slip back into his spaceship.
"Goku." Setsuna looked at Goku. "You go kill him."
"Really? Great!" Goku's eyes lit up, a pure, excited smile spreading across his face. He had long wanted a good fight with an opponent of this level.
"Haa!"
Goku erupted with power, golden Ki surging from his body like a volcanic eruption. His hair instantly stood on end, turning a brilliant gold.
The next moment, he was already before King Cold.
A simple, straight punch landed on King Cold's abdomen.
"Gyaaah!"
King Cold felt an indescribable, terrifying force pierce through his body. He shot backward like a white streak of light, countless times faster than the speed of sound, flying towards the distant horizon.
