Chapter 359 - The Untapped Potential of Aura!

After finishing the adjustments to the training plans for all his Pokémon and completing the design for Pidgeotto's Mega accessory—the Holy Ring—Ash stretched lazily before climbing onto his bed to begin his Aura meditation training.

Studying was like rowing against the current: if you didn't move forward, you inevitably drifted backward.

Psychic power cultivation worked the same way.

Compared to the Viridian Power, the growth rate of Aura Power was indeed slower. However, as long as he improved just a little every day, the accumulation over 365 days a year would eventually cause a qualitative transformation.

Looking back after a year, the improvement would actually be enormous—and the speed wouldn't seem slow at all.

However, just as he began his meditation, Ash suddenly realized something.

So far… he hadn't really developed his Aura Power.

Viridian Power possessed four abilities:

Healing Grace

Nature Affinity

Source Cleansing

Will Empowerment

The first three were abilities Ash used almost every day.

Even Will Empowerment, which he rarely used directly, had already been adapted by Ash through creative energy balancing.

From it, he had developed two unique applications:

Will Empowerment · Mega Evolution (Pseudo)

Will Empowerment · Z-Move (Pseudo)

But when it came to Aura Power, which mainly strengthened the Trainer himself, Ash was only using its most basic functions:

Sensing whether someone held malice toward him

Detecting emotional fluctuations

Listening to thoughts

Scanning the surrounding environment

In truth, Aura possessed far more capabilities.

As a power born from the heart and ultimately connected to the laws of the soul, Aura Power had nearly limitless potential.

From what Ash knew—both from the anime of his previous life and the feedback he received after awakening Aura Power in this world—the known abilities of Aura included:

① Mind Reading & Telepathy

② Aura Perception

③ Aura Projection

④ Aura Transference

⑤ Time Flower Resonance

⑥ Aura Wind Manipulation

The first two required little explanation.

Ash used them regularly.

The third ability involved projecting the intangible power of the heart into the physical world.

This was the fundamental principle behind Aura Sphere, and also the basic mechanism through which Aura could be used offensively.

The fourth ability was also straightforward.

Yes—Aura Power could heal.

However, unlike Viridian Power, which focused on repairing physical injuries, Aura healing worked primarily by soothing the mind and repairing spiritual or neurological imbalances.

For example:

Hormonal disorders

Brain damage

Psychological trauma

For such conditions, even LV.20 Aura Power might outperform LV.100 Viridian Power.

However, Pokémon rarely suffered from those kinds of conditions.

They were far more common in humans.

And Ash had no intention of becoming a doctor for humanity.

Besides, Aura Power didn't possess the reward mechanism that Viridian Power did.

So he had even less motivation to use Aura for healing humans.

As for the fifth ability—activating the Time Flower—it sounded incredibly powerful.

But in reality…

It was nearly useless.

The Time Flower was a crystal cluster shaped like a blooming flower.

It recorded visual fragments of events that occurred in that location at a specific time in the past.

Throughout the entire original storyline, it only appeared once—in the movie "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew."

And even then, it only existed near the Tree of Beginning around Rota and Cameran Palace.

Aura could activate a Time Flower, causing it to bloom and replay the recorded memories.

But Ash wasn't an archaeologist.

He had little interest in the ancient history of the Pokémon world.

What interested him was the present.

And the future.

Finally, the sixth ability—

Generating Aura Wind.

At first glance it seemed useless as well.

But if developed properly, it could potentially be used to simulate attack techniques similar to:

Whirlwind

Hurricane

Gust

Even so, if Ash truly wanted to develop Aura as a combat system, the most crucial ability was clearly the third one:

Projecting Aura outward.

"When my Aura Power reaches LV.30, and my control improves…"

Ash thought while lying in bed.

"I'll start by mastering Aura Projection."

"As for other attack techniques… I can develop them later when I have time."

With that thought, he finished his nightly meditation.

Outside the window, the autumn night sky was exceptionally clear.

The bright moon illuminated the quiet world as everything fell into stillness.

By the time his meditation ended, it was already close to 10 PM.

Ash didn't browse the internet or play on his phone.

Instead, he simply turned off the lights and went to sleep.

"Good night, Pikachu. Good night, everyone."

Ash poked his head out from under the blanket and said.

"Pika~"

"Frog~"

"Pidgee~"

"Skraah~"

Rotom switched off the lights using the room's electrical circuits.

The Pokémon quietly settled down to sleep.

Moonlight spilled gently into the room as calm breathing soon filled the air.

-----

The night passed peacefully.

The next morning—

Ash was awakened by Frogadier and the others.

After getting dressed and washing up, he headed outside with his Pokémon for morning training.

They soon arrived at the river outside Pallet Town.

"Since we need to shoot promotional posters for Mom's flower shop this morning, I won't be able to train you all later."

"And I'm not comfortable leaving you at home alone."

"So we'll skip training this morning."

"But that means our morning training session needs to be extra intense."

Ash looked at his Pokémon and said seriously.

"Pika~ (=^v^=) Got it!"

Hearing that they would have the morning off later made the Pokémon extremely happy.

Normally their schedule was:

Morning training

Afternoon rest

Evening battles at the City Arena

Ash had already created a very balanced routine based on the principle of work and rest combined.

But whether human or Pokémon—

As intelligent beings with emotions and independent thought, everyone had a little laziness inside them.

And occasionally enjoying half a day of relaxation was always delightful.

"Alright."

"After I explain the training tasks, we'll begin."

Ash turned to Pikachu.

"Pikachu, you've already completely mastered the defensive combo Light Screen and Reflect."

"Today, I'll help you learn two new moves."

"Rain Dance and Surf."

"That way, when you face Ground-type Pokémon that are immune to Electric attacks, you won't be helpless."

"Pika~ (=^v^=) Got it!"

Ash nodded.

Then he quietly issued a command in his mind.

"System, use the Rain Dance and Surf TMs."
