Chapter 485 - [486] : Darkwill Joins the Crew

Beyonder characteristics contaminated by the True Creator's aura?

Where did Klein get that from?

Moreover, judging by his description in the letter, he seemed to care greatly about this matter.

Did he really need those characteristics that badly?

To others, an evil god's aura was lethal contamination, but he had the protection of that illusory sea, which could isolate these influences.

It was precisely thanks to this sea that he had been able to resist the mental invasions of various evil gods all along, maintaining his true nature on the mad path of "Secrets Suppliant."

Klein had witnessed his experiences along this journey and could certainly guess that he possessed something special that resisted evil gods, which was why he wrote to inquire.

However, he had never cleansed the True Creator's mental contamination before.

He wasn't sure how to do it, much less whether it would work. Moreover, this process would expose his cheat ability to Klein.

Better forget it, Silas thought. He'd put it off for now.

If Klein really had no other options, then he'd figure something out.

"Boom!"

With a sudden burst of flames from his palm, he completely burned the letter to ashes.

The moon outside the window had somehow shed its bloody color and returned to its normal crimson.

Silas sat in his chair, staring at the night sky and contemplating for a while.

He gradually decided on several things:

First, he really did need to make a trip to Bayam's Governor's Mansion.

After all, "Elaine's" whereabouts were connected to "Vice Admiral of Ailment" Tracy, and the latter was directly linked to the Demoness Sect. His feud with the demonesses wasn't over yet.

Furthermore, the people from MI9 also came from Bayam, and their situation was equally worth noting.

Second, since he was going to Bayam, he could perhaps accept the Life School's commission.

It just so happened that he was recently planning to get a more useful beyonder item, so he'd use that as his compensation.

Moreover, he now had a warship and could even disguise himself as the navy to approach the port.

With that in mind, Silas pulled out paper and pen and quickly wrote a letter to Klein:

[I'll head to Bayam as soon as I can.

Wait for me there for a few days. We'll talk through the details of the plan once we meet.

As for the contamination in the Beyonder characteristic, I'm not certain I can cleanse it.

Try looking for other solutions first. If nothing else works, then hand it over to me.]

After finishing the letter and sealing it, he settled Luna in another room, then summoned Klein's messenger.

In the howling cold wind, that tall lady appeared.

Her four heads looked around the room but didn't find the black cat's figure, so she could only continue fulfilling her task.

One head bit the envelope, another head bit the gold coin Silas offered, and she disappeared.

The night passed uneventfully.

The next morning, Silas went out early and found his first mate Anderson in a bar.

"Captain?"

Anderson looked like he'd been drinking all night.

Though he reeked of alcohol, he still seemed quite sober. After Silas called to him, he immediately opened his eyes.

"Have the crew assemble. We're setting out today."

"Where to?"

Anderson asked, somewhat surprised.

We just arrived on the island and barely had any shore leave.

Why are we suddenly leaving? Wait, did I drink too much and sleep through an entire day?

"To Bayam."

Silas spoke with an unquestionable tone. "Gather the men as soon as possible and wait for me at the port."

"Alright."

Seeing his serious expression, Anderson had no choice but to get up.

The key problem was he didn't know where the sailors had all gone, so he could only find the boatswain first, then contact them one by one.

Silas watched him leave, then walked out of the bar himself and quickly arrived beneath the bell tower of St. Draco's Church.

"Knock knock."

He knocked on the door of the small room under the bell tower.

"It's you?"

When the person who opened the door saw him, the flesh on his cheeks trembled.

That's right, it was Darkwill. His owl stood on a perch by the window, secretly observing everything.

Silas ignored Darkwill and stepped into the house, seeing Councilman Ricciardo sitting in a chair waiting for his response.

"Your Excellency, regarding yesterday's commission, I've decided to accept it."

He didn't waste time on pleasantries and spoke directly.

"Very glad to hear this news."

Ricciardo chuckled. "Have you considered what compensation you want?"

"I need a beyonder item of fairly high strength, either powerful in effect or with good auxiliary abilities."

Silas had already thought it through, so he immediately said.

"Of course."

Councilman Ricciardo nodded, unsurprised, then said, "Please take out that revolver."

Revolver?

Oh, he must be talking about the "Revolver of Luck."

After understanding Ricciardo's meaning, Silas took out the silvery-white revolver from his robe.

It had originally been stored by Silas on that illusory sea, but considering that the Life School chairman had left a mark on it, which might help persuade these people, he had specifically brought it into reality before landing on the island.

"Mm, just as I thought."

Ricciardo took the revolver and examined it carefully, especially pausing for a moment on the emblem where the head met the tail.

"This item was crafted from Sequence 7 of the Monster pathway, a 'Lucky One.'

It can draw on the precise gunplay of a Machinist and the luck of a Lucky One."

Since it belonged to the same pathway, the chairman could command it from a higher level and land a blow on that demigod-level demon.

Silas had already pieced that much together, so he wasn't surprised. He was only curious about what the other side intended to do.

"Leave it with me for now."

Ricciardo said with a smile, placing the silvery-white revolver on his knee.

"When you arrive in Bayam, it will return to your hands... in a completely new form."

A new form?

What does that mean? Are you going to upgrade my weapon?

The other party's answer was as enigmatic as always.

Silas wanted to ask more, but felt that even if he asked, the other party wouldn't answer properly anyway.

In any case, he's made a promise.

If he can't deliver it to me after the specified time, or if it doesn't satisfy me, I'll just abandon the commission outright.

"I understand."

So Silas nodded. "Then I'll set off."

"Please wait, I've also arranged a companion for you."

Ricciardo smiled and pointed to the fat apothecary beside him.

"Let Darkwill go with you too. He's a decent apothecary and should be able to help you during your voyage at sea."

"Huh? Me?"

Before Silas could react, Darkwill jumped up first. "Councilman, sir, what you told me before about my 'destiny,' this is it?"

"That's right."

Ricciardo responded with a smile. "Just as I said before, your coming here wasn't without meaning."

So my meaning is to be a doctor for a bunch of pirates? Darkwill grimaced, wanting to say something sarcastic, but considering the other party's demigod status, he could only obediently shut his mouth.
