Chapter 393 - [394] : The Final Step

"Ahhhhhhh!"

Georgina shrieked at the top of her lungs, completely losing control as she transformed into a twisted monstrosity.

She had only been submerged in the illusory seawater for an instant, yet it triggered this insane metamorphosis!

Silas cast her a cold glance.

Once he confirmed she would only attack everything around her on instinct and wouldn't interfere with his plan, he immediately tossed her aside.

"Whoosh!"

The blood river surged forward, continuing toward the palace.

Meanwhile, Mr. A and the others joined Medici's side, combining forces with countless puppets to besiege Prince Grove and Qonas.

"How is this possible..."

Prince Grove watched Georgina's transformation, sweat instantly beading on his forehead.

She was a demigod at Sequence 4, yet the moment that river swallowed her, she suffered a complete mental breakdown and lost control, turning into a monster!

He quickly gained altitude, making sure the river water couldn't reach him.

Qonas followed his example and pulled back.

He was starting to regret this.

He'd thought this would be an easy assignment, a chance to shine in front of the emperor.

But reality was far crueler.

The Blood Reverend truly lived up to his fearsome reputation, harboring terrible secrets!

Prince Grove didn't just gain altitude.

He also noticed that Silas was currently moving toward the palace, and anxiety gripped his heart as he prepared to pursue and intercept.

"Hehe, why are you flying so high? Could it be you're afraid?"

But just then, Medici let out a contemptuous laugh aimed at Grove in the sky.

"That's right! Your enemy is merely a Sequence 5, while you're nothing but a Sequence 3.

In front of your king, you certainly need to act extremely cautious. I'm sure your king will understand, won't he?"

"Hahahahaha!"

His other two mouths joined in perfectly, laughing in unison.

"Shut up!"

Prince Grove's sore spot had been struck. His burned face twisted, his eyes turning bloodshot.

The cape behind him shook violently, ripples created by surging spirituality!

"Don't be angry. I understand why you're so timid."

Medici consoled him with a smile, though his words dripped with obvious mockery.

"I'm curious, how many years did it take you to reach Sequence 3? And yet you still can't compare to a newcomer who's only been a Beyonder for a few years.

Every day you still have to take orders from an ordinary king. Truly pitiful..."

"I said, shut up!"

Grove flew into a rage.

He abandoned his pursuit of Silas and dove down instead, engaging Medici in close combat.

Qonas had no choice but to cooperate, launching his own attack.

Sodrak Palace had become a field of ruins by now.

Countless buildings had collapsed from the blood river's impact, from artillery bombardment, and from being caught in the crossfire of battle.

Among the broken walls and rubble, a stunningly beautiful young woman in an elaborate dress appeared.

The young woman had golden hair and blue eyes, her features exquisitely refined.

She carefully stepped around the scattered stones on the ground, following the trail left by the blood river.

From a distance, she could see the towering blood river and the fierce battle.

That's right, this young woman was none other than Audrey Hall.

"Oh Goddess..."

Audrey had found an excuse to slip away from her mother and leave the palace, following Silas all the way to the edge of the battlefield.

As a Spectator, as a companion in the Tarot Club, she had to witness the conclusion of this earth-shattering assassination!

Under her gaze, the royal family's remaining two demigods were entangled with flesh puppets, while Silas himself manipulated the blood river, rapidly advancing toward the palace.

"..."

King George III sat upright on his throne.

At the edge of his vision, the figure of that audacious intruder had already appeared.

"George, I'm here!"

Silas was likewise looking at the king. "I've brought their fury to find you!"

The pain of countless dead was borne upon his shoulders. His figure appeared both mad and weighed down.

The surging blood river swirled around him, toppling buildings wherever it passed.

Some guards rushed forward trying to stop him, only to be easily swallowed.

"Your Majesty... Your Majesty!"

Inside the palace, many ministers had completely panicked, saying to the king, "Please retreat temporarily..."

But King George III only sat there darkly, his posture rigid.

From every angle, he couldn't leave now.

Silas moved quickly.

In the blink of an eye, he reached the palace steps.

The blood-red robe on his body was so conspicuous, as if thick bloody scents had already drifted into everyone's nostrils.

But just then, a calm voice rang out.

"Blood magic is forbidden here."

"Whoosh!"

The rushing river stopped abruptly.

Then, like an animal encountering its natural predator, it suddenly retracted, all of it flowing back into Silas's body.

Medici, Mr. A, all the flesh puppets were also forced to end their summons because of the river's withdrawal!

Silas whipped his head around. He saw that at some point, a slightly arrogant old man had appeared in the sky above.

The old man's black hair was streaked with considerable silver. His face was clean-shaven, and he gazed calmly down at Silas.

"Your Highness Dlink."

Prince Grove flew to his side, lowering his head in shame.

The Augustus royal family's angel, Sequence 2 Balancer, Dlink Augustus!

"Mm."

Dlink barely acknowledged Grove. He made a light brushing motion downward. Invisibly, rules and order shifted.

Silas felt his momentum instantly plummet, as if he had reached a balance with everything around him.

Shepherd, profane words, shadow spells... all his abilities suddenly diminished in power!

Dlink extended a finger toward him.

"Bang!"

Silas's body was instantly flattened, turning into a puddle of flesh and blood.

But even so, Silas didn't stop. He struggled to barely recover, dragging his mangled, bloody remains as he continued toward the throne.

Step by step, he climbed the palace stairs. Each step left behind a trail of blood.

Mr. Temperance!

Audrey watched this scene from a distance, tears gradually welling in her eyes.

This guy's insane!

Grove thought to himself. Instead of trying to escape, he's charging the palace with reckless disregard for his life!

"Rebels must be punished."

Dlink pointed at Silas, speaking calmly.

Thus, the dead guards stood up again under the peculiar order, wielding their swords and attacking from all directions!

"Pfft!"

In this desperate situation, Silas had completely lost any ability to resist. He stepped onto the final step before the palace.

Before he could cross the threshold, the guards' blades pierced him from every direction.

The blades gleamed bright, lifting his body off the ground, as if hoisting him onto a cross to bear his sins.

"Dong, dong... dong..."

Just then, the distant Clock of Order rang out with its chimes.

Though it had crashed, though its face was shattered, it still used this method to remind everyone present that the new year had arrived.

And Silas, he died without ever reaching King George III's throne.

Was there no way?

He was just this final step away! That damned face of George III was right in front of him!

At the moment of death, Silas suddenly moved!

He grabbed his own head, then...

"Riiip!"

Audrey in the distance was so shocked she covered her mouth!

The headless body, still pierced by the guards' blades, continued moving and threw its own head straight into the palace!

"Ah!"

The crowd inside the palace instantly erupted into chaos, frightened by this bloody head.

"Thump, thump..."

The head bounced and rolled across the floor, coming to rest right before King George III's throne.

"Who are you?"

The monarch looked down at the mangled, unrecognizable face on the bloody head and asked coldly, "What is your purpose?"

Then he saw the head give him a twisted smile.

"Fuck you."

Silas said.

"BOOM!"

The next moment, both his head and body exploded!

When the blood mist cleared, he had completely vanished.
