Silas summoned the tide in his mind, then imagined this tide appearing outside his body and submerging him.
"Whoosh..."
Soon, viscous and illusory liquid surged from all directions.
This liquid was deep black, yet also seemed to contain all other colors, directly submerging Silas's body.
Clamorous, mad roars echoed in his mind.
He sank through the seawater until his surroundings suddenly lightened and the sound of the tide rang out incomparably clear.
Opening his eyes, Silas found his body had already appeared on that illusory sea.
He and M both stood on the sea surface, with tides lapping past their feet.
Although this wasn't his first time here, he was still shocked by the strange scenery.
"Whoosh..."
This was an extremely vast sea. At the limits of vision, above his head, everything was blocked by white mist.
On the other side of that mist, in places he couldn't currently see, stood the True Creator.
If that was the case, what would be on the other side of the mist overhead?
Silas looked around, this thought naturally arising in his heart.
Of course, he hadn't forgotten the purpose of this visit. He reached into his body and took out Katie's soul.
"Where... is this?"
She said, confused and terrified.
Silas applied slight pressure with his fingers, and she could only wail, no longer asking questions.
"How do I do this? Just soak it directly in the seawater?"
Silas looked at M.
After arriving here again, he suddenly felt what she'd said wasn't very reliable.
This seawater was chaotic, dark, and viscous, looking extremely dangerous.
If a human soul was placed in it, it would probably quickly become contaminated with strange things.
"You can't soak it directly. This sea is still very dangerous."
M answered.
"Since the seawater is so dangerous, you still think it can nourish souls?"
Silas asked coldly. "What kind of joke is this?"
You used those words to convince me, but now you're saying this place is dangerous... You've said everything there is to say!
"Haven't you noticed yet?"
M's expression didn't change.
Instead, she pointed at his feet. "This sea, only a small portion is under your control... The sea area you control is safe."
Hearing this, Silas couldn't help but look down.
Sure enough, just as she said, the seawater beneath his feet was somewhat different.
Compared to the distant waters, the seawater under his feet was calmer and clearer.
Though not so clear as to fade from black, it wasn't so chaotic... as if some impurities in the seawater had been filtered out.
This sea area wasn't very large, only existing within three to five meters around him as the center.
When he walked on the water surface, this sea area moved with him, keeping him always at the center.
Indeed, this seawater was somewhat different.
Silas thought, opening his hand.
The seawater at his feet floated up according to his thoughts, transforming into a stream of water.
Under his control, it rose and fell. When this seawater filled his body, he sensed the abilities of other sequences, grasping the corresponding authorities.
But when his spirituality extended toward the distant seawater, that chaotic seawater only gave him sluggish feedback and didn't accept his control.
Like a dog not very familiar with him, though it wouldn't pounce and bite, it wouldn't be very cooperative either.
"Does this mean my control over this place isn't enough?"
He seemed to be talking to himself, yet also asking M.
"Very likely."
"How do I increase the degree of control?"
"Continue advancing."
M answered.
"When you advance to 'Black Knight,' you should be able to control a far larger area than now."
"Mm."
Silas nodded slightly, agreeing with her view.
The difference between Sequence 5 and Sequence 4 was enormous.
The former was at most a mid-sequence powerhouse, while the latter was called "demigod," a completely different level of existence.
Ince Zangwill was Sequence 4.
With Silas's current abilities, he probably couldn't defeat him.
But precisely because of this, he had an enormous obsession with advancing, wanting to achieve revenge as soon as possible.
Returning to the present, Silas looked at this seawater but felt somewhat troubled.
How should he soak the soul?
When he existed here, this independent sea area could form, repelling other seawater.
But when he left, this seawater would probably mix with the other seawater and be completely diluted.
Not only would it have no effect, it would harm the soul.
This area was quite similar to [The Fool's] gray fog castle. If only there could be a table here like there...
He thought subconsciously.
"Rumble!"
A muffled sound came from beneath his feet, startling him.
At the same time, something rose to the surface.
It was a circle of gray stone, arranged together, looking like the edge of something, protruding above the water surface. The material forming it looked smooth in texture yet very hard.
What is this?
Silas looked carefully and discovered the gray stone edge was sealed below, almost like a pool.
More of this thing was hidden below the sea surface, obscured by the chaotic deep black seawater, its full appearance invisible.
"What is this?"
He asked M.
"I don't know. I haven't seen it before."
The latter also shook her head in confusion. "Does it have something to do with you?"
Right, I was just thinking it would be good if there was something similar to what's above the gray fog... Silas was also somewhat suspicious.
He looked at that gray thing, silently thinking about making it rise or sink. However, after appearing, this thing no longer responded to Silas.
It didn't move at all, as if it had always maintained this state.
"No good. I can't control it."
Silas gave up trying to control it.
He walked a circle around the edge of this gray stone but couldn't see more of what was below.
He could only instinctively guess that this might be part of some building.
However, although he didn't know what it was or what relationship it had with this sea, this way, there was now a place to store souls.
It had risen from beneath Silas's feet, and the pool-like structure was entirely filled with seawater under Silas's control.
This thing should remain stable.
Even if I leave this place, it won't sink... Silas thought, then placed Katie's cluster of soul into the pool's seawater.
"Glub glub..."
The soul was as light as if weightless, while the seawater was viscous and heavy.
Silas had thought Katie's soul would float on the seawater's surface but didn't expect it to sink to the bottom.
He took a step forward and through the not-very-deep seawater, saw Katie's soul lying at the bottom of the pool, wrapped by the seawater.
Her blurred face didn't show a pained expression but instead became peaceful.
Her originally damaged soul body seemed to be receiving nourishment, slowly recovering.
It seems to be working...
Silas thought.
However, this was only temporarily problem-free. He still needed to continue observing.
