Chapter 411: The Blood-Red Steam of Burning Life!
"That guy… Madara Uchiha…" Kaido swallowed hard, his voice raspy. "He's absolutely a creature from another dimension. That look in his eyes… He isn't looking at enemies. He's looking at a bunch of moving dust!"
Despair was spreading across the battlefield.
"Damn it! Damn it! DAMN IT!!" Akainu swung Zanka no Tachi like a madman.
Every slash vaporized hundreds of tons of rock in front of him. But against this endless ocean of stone, it was not even a drop in the bucket. One second, he carved out an opening; the next, tens of millions of tons of earth rushed in to fill the void. The gravity was growing stronger, and the space was shrinking. The suffocating sensation of being buried alive left even the wielder of the strongest fire-type Zanpakuto feeling profoundly powerless.
"Is this our limit…?" The light in Kizaru's hands began to dim.
Though his Dust Release was overwhelmingly powerful, his chakra had a limit. Under this kind of high-intensity, continuous outburst, he felt as if his body was being hollowed out.
"No! It's not over yet!" Garp suddenly violently coughed up a mouthful of blood, forcibly steadying his crumbling posture. The blood vessels in his eyes looked ready to burst.
"As long as this old man is still breathing… Don't think this crappy stone cage can hold me!!"
The aura surrounding Garp suddenly became terrifyingly violent. The thin layer of blue-green steam originally coating his body erupted into the sky like a roaring flame. The sheer heat warped the very air around him.
What is he doing? Everyone stared in horror at the crazed old man.
Sengoku seemed to realize something, his face turning deathly pale.
"Garp! Stop!! Your body has already reached its absolute limit! If you push it any further, you'll die!!"
That was the precursor to the final gate of the Eight Inner Gates—the Gate of Death! Although Garp hadn't completely mastered the method to open the Gate of Death, he was forcefully overdrawing his life force, attempting to shatter the limits of the Gate of Wonder to touch that taboo threshold!
"Die!?" Garp cracked a gruesome smile, blood staining his teeth. "If we can't even break out of here… What's the difference between this and dying?! Get the hell… LOST!!!"
BOOM!!!
A wave of dark red energy erupted from Garp's body. It was the terrifying power generated by boiling his own blood! While not the true Gate of Death, the tier of this power had already far surpassed the Gate of Wonder!
Bang!
Garp vanished. In his place was a streak of crimson lightning that pierced the heavens! Defying the terrifying gravity that could crush solid steel, he shot upward like a missile, crashing headlong toward the core of the rapidly closing seal!
"Hmm?" High in the sky, Madara Uchiha raised an eyebrow. "Burning your life force? Hmph. Just the death throes of a dying animal."
Madara thrust his palm downward.
"Chibaku Tensei: Super Added-Weight!"
RUMBLE!!!
The massive black sphere of gravity instantly doubled in size. An even more horrifying gravitational pull slammed down, feeling like the weight of a hundred thousand mountains.
"Bleurgh—!" Mid-charge, Garp's body violently stuttered in the air.
He spat out a mouthful of blood mixed with fragments of his own internal organs. Too heavy! This pressure was simply too immense! It felt like he was moving while carrying the entire world on his back! Even burning his life force, and even with the repulsive force of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, his speed visibly crawled to a halt. All around him, the overlapping barriers of rock completely slammed shut. The final sliver of light vanished. The world plunged into a dead, suffocating darkness.
Thud!
With a heavy, muffled boom, the colossal sphere—over tens of kilometers in diameter—completely formed. It hung in the firmament like an artificial moon, blotting out the sun and inspiring absolute despair.
"It ends here." Madara Uchiha stood with his hands clasped behind his back at the very zenith of the massive rock planet.
The night wind whipped through his snow-white hair. His voice was cold and indifferent, ringing out like a death sentence.
"Before the sealing jutsu of the Six Paths, all resistance is futile. You remnants of a bygone era… Serve as the nourishment for this new star, and slumber in the darkness for all eternity."
Back in Foosha Village, dead silence reigned. Everyone stared blankly at the massive sphere suspended in the sky on the holographic projection.
We lost? They had assembled the absolute peak fighting force of the Marines. They possessed Senjutsu, the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, the Eight Inner Gates, Zanka no Tachi, Dust Release… A lineup so luxurious and yet they still lost? And in such an overwhelmingly crushing manner, sealed away along with the entire battlefield?
"Is this… the difficulty of a boss-tier dungeon?" The liquor bottle slipped from Red-Haired Shanks' grasp, shattering to pieces on the floor.
He felt as though something had lodged in his throat. It was absolute despair. That kind of power simply didn't belong to the realm of mortals. However, just when everyone thought the dust had settled, Blake, sitting behind the bar counter, still maintained his lazy posture. He even picked up his coffee and gently blew on it.
"Don't be so impatient." A mysterious smirk crept onto Blake's lips. Reflected in his deep eyes was the shadow of a miracle about to unfold. "Who said getting locked inside… means you can't come out?"
As if to validate Blake's words, a faint, yet extraordinarily clear heartbeat suddenly echoed from deep within that massive, utterly still sphere.
Thump.
Immediately following it was a heat so extreme it began to seep through kilometers of solid bedrock. Even through the screen, everyone could feel it. That colossal sphere of rock… Was it… turning red?
At this very moment, the massive artificial planet suspended ten thousand meters in the air was undergoing a spine-chilling transformation.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
It was a heartbeat. Deep, powerful, like a beating war drum, it echoed clearly across the entire battlefield through the kilometers-thick rock shell. What was even more terrifying was the temperature. The pitch-black, freezing surface of the rock actually began to glow red. Like a branding iron thrust into a forge, wisps of crimson steam frantically spewed outward through the fissures in the stone. Even the surrounding space warped from the blistering heat.
"What… what kind of chakra is this?" Standing atop the sphere, Madara's cold facade finally cracked.
He could feel the artificial planet trembling beneath his feet. It was as if the sphere wasn't holding a few mere mortals, but an ancient, apocalyptic beast on the verge of awakening!
"To output this level of energy under the suppression of this gravitational seal?" Madara furrowed his brows, the Truth-Seeking Orbs behind him instantly shifting into their highest defensive formation.
His instincts screamed at him. Something was coming out!
—————
Inside the Chibaku Tensei, it had become a living furnace.
"So hot…" Akainu's face was filled with shock.
As the user of the Mag-Mag Fruit, he was actually feeling "burned" in this hellhole? The solid rock around them was melting. Not from his magma; it was being forcibly vaporized by the sheer heat radiating from the old man standing in the center!
"Garp…" Sengoku stared at that broad back, his entire body trembling.
Garp had completely transformed. His skin had taken on a bizarre, deep crimson hue, like a boiled prawn. But the aura rolling off of him was more than ten times more tyrannical than before! The original blue-green steam was gone, replaced by a blood-red steam as thick as fresh gore! It was the terrifying phenomenon created by his blood violently burning and boiling within his body!
