According to Cimon, the ride to Mythorus Academy on the supersonic speed train was 36 hours.
This was because the continent of Mythos, specifically the planet that Mythos resides in, is hundreds of thousands of times larger than Earth, and these supersonic trains are what connect the major cities of this planet to one another. The Mythos Isles is only one of the Great Cities of the Mythos plane, but it is under the banner and protection of House Luminaris and the many, many banner houses who support House Luminaris also guard the city.
But that is just one city. There are others, too. The other cities are protected by other houses, some of which are Great houses, while others are under the protection of upper-grade mid-level noble houses. In fact, the town in which the Mythorus Academy lies is under the direct protection of all 7 of the Great Houses despite it being a branch city of House Morpheus. It is a bunch of politics and such, Corven lost interest halfway through Cimon's rambling.
The planet of Mythalis itself is so big, so vast, with many uncharted territories, most of which are filled with unprecedented dangers. More than 45% of the planet itself is unexplored, with, of the 54% of the known parts, only 25% is mapped and free enough of monsters to be habitable enough to build cities and structures used for housing and whatnot. The final 29% is territory filled to the brim of powerful monsters that are way too dense for ordinary noble houses to clear on their own or is the territory of literal god-like monsters and progenitor monsters. Either way, the 25% of Mythos that is habitable is under the control of the 7 Great Houses and their corresponding medium level noble houses and low level noble houses under their banner.
One of such cities is the Underground City of Osirium, which is also located on this planet, though its entrance is underground and heavily guarded.
Anyway, as far as Corven was concerned, he honestly couldn't care less about the time it would take him to get to this academy. He was just happy he could go. He was hoping to learn more about his powers and maybe even about this world he's entered. The library at the Luminaris Estate was limited in what information it had — It mostly had information on events that happened since the "founding"[read 'escape from the Shadow Realm.'] of House Luminaris; it was not broad enough on anything else not relating or pertaining to House Luminaris.
As far as bunks went, the compartment he, Celeste and Cimon picked was a VIP compartment, with four rooms — three bedrooms, with each having a twin-sized bed, a desk and a small area to cultivate in the center of the said room compartment. The fourth room was a medium sized, fancy restroom that had a tub with an overhead shower. As far as cozy went, though a little cramped in some areas, this wasn't far from it at all.
There was a dining bar just down the corridor, where a hall too vast to be on a train resided. Cimon calls it spatial magic that's allowing these abnormally vast areas to fit inside such a narrow train such as this — Corven was impressed, if only, a bit.
After an hour onboard, Corven began cultivating. He stayed in his bunk compartment to do so; most of the time went by pretty swiftly. Cimon and Celeste invited him to go to the dining bar for lunch, but he passed, convincing them he'd go later. He wasn't hungry, and if he got hungry, he still had Great Snake jerky stored up in his shadow space. The two of them went on ahead without him. Corven stayed back to cultivate.
Eventually, night fell and Corven would make his way to the dining bar. He was getting hungry and suddenly found himself not wanting great snake jerky for dinner. He had it for lunch and it did wonders for his cultivation progress, but he burned it all off his stomach while cultivating. As he left his room, he noticed Cimon and Celeste had already left again, this time for dinner, most likely.
"They must've decided to go together," Corven muttered to himself, as he followed the signs to the dining bar.
Upon arriving at the dining bar, he had just entered, hearing the chatter of voices of conversations of various different people, when he heard Celeste's voice over the crowd of voices. "Corven! Over here!"
This caused a handful of curious eyes to see the new arrival…
[Jabari Ausar]:
Jabari had initially went to lunch thinking he'd get the chance to meet the Corven Umbrovante he's been hearing so much about recently, only to end up slightly disappointed only meeting Cimon of House Morpheus and Celeste of House Luminaris, which wasn''t the worst sight for sore eyes, but he still had a mission to finish and curiosity to satiate, after all.
He reached his hand into his pocket to feel the rough, stony edges of the sacred object he was entrusted to ensure reached Corven Umbrovante's hands. It was his mother's dignant but direct tone that made Jabari realize just how vital this task really was. He was determined to see it through to the end.
"Take this and deliver it to Corven Umbrovante," she had said in such fierce seriousness Jabari knew it was the most important mission he'd take in his life; it definitely was to date — she never reacted such away when giving a mission briefing. "He is the last son of House Umbrovante, and the key to unsealing our ancestral home realm. We must protect him and serve him as our ancestors had done his forefathers countless millennia before. You must succeed and ensure no one receives this but Corven, understand?"
"I understand," Jabari stated, seriousand firm. "I will not fal you, mother, nor our House. I give you my word."
Jabari was not too sure on the serving part, but he was certain Corven would make a fine friend, maybe even a sparring partner if he turned out to be strong. That would be awesome. Plus, Jabari did not want to disappoint his mother. He has yet to do that, and he wasn't planning on starting anytime soon.
Awed for a minute by her son's moment of absoluteness, Layla patted Jabari's head affectionately, before giving a hug to her son. "Make friends with Corven, guard him with your life if it comes down to it. Make me proud."
Jabari, lost in the memory, had to be forced to come back to himself as murmurs escaped from the crowd of similar aged youths, all gesturing at two star guests' arrivals. Celeste and Cimon had arrived with their cousins' entourage. They were followed by Sean Luminaris and his lackeys backing him.
"Wow! That's Celeste Luminaris, of House Luminaris!" one boy said, eyes like hearts as he gazed at the princess of House Luminaris.
"She's so pretty!" one of the girls in a group of giggling girls giggled, all from a noble house.
"I would give anything to marry her," whispered a commoner boy, who had stars in his eyes as he gazed at the girl of his dreams.
"You? A commoner, marry her, a literal princess? Please be real!" the boy from earlier, Gerard Gilbersh, said, his winged snake out of its cage again, wrapped lazily around his neck. "I'm much more suited to be her suitor. I'm nobleborn!"
"Please, you're only of House Gilbersh, a small noble house," said a boy with blond hair, smirking arrogantly. "My House Sky is a medium house. If anyone is destined to possess the traits necessary to deserve her, it is me."
"Who is that with her?" another commoner asked, curious.
"I-is that… Cimon Morpheus, of House Morpheus?" another boy said, jealous he was standing next to Celeste and not him. "He's so lucky!"
"He's from a powerful noble family, of course he has the privilege of walking side-by-side with the princess of House Luminaris," said a boy, nodding vigorously both in admiration and enviousness.
"He's so handsome!" exclaimed a girl, blushing as she hugged herself.
"That's Sean luminaris, also of House Luminaris," stated a second year student, based on their uniform. "He's a Third Year student at Mythorus Academy, top of his class and a prodigy at the sword play arts."
"I hear he mastered the Sword Art to the Demigod tier before the age of 17 years old!" a boy exclaimed in admiration.
Jabari did not see Corven, though. From his family's intel. He knew that Corven would be traveling with House Luminaris and Cimon Morpheus, yet he did not see anyone else who matched Achlys's description of the guy.
'I could give the object to them to give to him…,' he thought before shaking his head aggressively, banishing the thought. 'But I gave mother my word that I'll see my mission succeed and there's no guarantee that they'll give it to Corven.' Jabari did not know them like that and he could not risk the success of his mission on even the slightest of uncertainties.
Jabari decided to wait. Still Corven did not appear.
Jabari stayed in the dining bar, even after lunch was finished. He didn't even cultivate — something he does almost 24/7. He just watched and waited.
Eventually, night befell the train and dinner time had youths returning to the dining bar as well as Celeste and Cimon a their crew, but Jabari had yet to see Corven.
As boys tripped over themselves to see Celeste to try to ask for her hand in marriage, to which Celeste blatantly ignored, and often politely declined[to the noble], Jabari began to frustrate. He was certain Corven would be there — Celeste even said he may come earlier at lunch when Jabari had asked her about him, but he had yet to show himself, and it was frosting Jabari.
"Corven! Over here!"
He had just been about given up for the evening, intending to go back to his compartment and cultivate until the morning where he'd try again, when Celeste's voice had called out Corven's name from across the the dining bar, rousing both jealous and curious glances of the crowd as she gestured to her table.
Jabari looked up to see Corven had arrived, entering the dining bar with an aura of pride and confidence. Dressed in black ripped jeans, a black button down shirt, a silver belt chain and silver, emerald earrings, Corven had pale white hair, black at the roots and lifeless pale white eyes that seemed to shift from pure black darkness to the palest of whites in the irises. He possessed a noble aura, and had an upheld head as he made his way over to Celeste's table, even under the scrutinous gazes of various envious boys and intrigued girls.
"Who is he, and why does Celeste know him so well?" a boy with a jealous glare eyed Corven.
"They're on a first name basis from the looks of things…maybe he's nobleborn?" a boy offered, though he had no idea who Corven was.
"Why is he kinda…?" blushed one of the girls in admiration.
"He is kind of attractive in an emo kind of way," another girl stated, eyeing Corven up and down with a glint of intrigue in her eyes.
'Who are you?' thought Johnny Sky, the noble boy from earlier. 'Why does Celeste know your name, but have yet to remember my own?'
Johnny released a slight pressure focused entirely on Corven, his battle intent raging, but Corven ignored it as if he weren't bothered, continuing on his way.
He did take a detour, getting a plate of ham and greens with an apple before making his way to sit next to Celeste. Murmurs broke out at this, as various teens wanted to know who this mysterious new guy was. They figured his name was Corven, but… that's about all they knew anything more. No one knew, and the ones who did, said nothing.
Jabari reached out with his spirit senses and sent a private mental message, or a soul whisper, to Corven. To which his only response was looking up and surveying the room before his eyes landed on Jabari. Thn, to everyone's shock, he smiled, gesturing for Jabari to come over.
This only caused the murmurs to get louder from there. No one knew who this person was, yet he knew royal members of both the Houses of House Luminaris and House Ausar? To be cozy enough with both that you're gestured over by one and the gesture over the other? No one could believe their eyes, as they watched with bated breath as Jabari walked over to sit directly in front of Corven.
"So you're Corven," Jabari studied Corven, then outstretched his hand. "I am prince Jabari Ausar, heir to House Ausar. I've been itching to meet you for a very long time now."
"Corven Umbrovante, the Last son of House Umbrovante," Corven said, casualty eliciting a grasp from the crowd grasp no one knew who this person was nor of the house he spoke of… at least amongst the commoners. A few handfuls of high ranking nobles recognized the name, but they said nothing. Corven shook Jabari's hand and began eating his food.
