After finally admitting his mistakes and pouring out everything he had been carrying in his chest, Lyric slowly forced himself to leave Soren's side. The room felt heavier now, thick with the quiet aftermath of his confession and staying any longer felt unbearable.
He didn't leave through the door.
Instead, Lyric climbed out through the window the same way he had entered earlier. The cool night air brushed against his face as he stepped onto the ground outside with the faint rustling of the curtains behind him, the only sign that anyone had been there at all.
Truthfully, the only reason he had managed to visit Soren in the first place was because Elias had briefly stepped out of the room. The man had gone to fetch a basin of water and a clean towel so he could wipe Soren's body and tend to him more comfortably.
That short moment had been the only opportunity Lyric had.
