Chapter 154 - Chapter 148: THE PAST

"Wai—wai—wai—wai… wait. This Joyboy guy trained you?" Emma asked, eyes wide.

"Yes," Noah replied. "Now keep quiet and let me tell you how it all happened."

Nyx leaned forward. "This better be good."

Noah crossed his arms.

"…Eight hundred years ago."

EIGHT HUNDRED (800) YEARS AGO....

The sky cracked open and a figure dropped from above.

"AAAAAAAH!"

BOOM.

Noah slammed into the ground, a cloud of dust rose around him.

"…I'm alive," Noah muttered.

He slowly sat up, rubbing his head.

Tall trees that reached the clouds and strange plants surrounded him.

The air felt cold and heavy.

"…Where did that god guy send me?" Noah muttered to himself.

He stood up and looked around.

"Don't tell me…"

The ground started to shake.Heavy footsteps echoed throughout the forest.

Noah turned slowly.

"…he sent me back to Little Garden."

A massive dinosaur burst through the trees.

"Yep. That's a dinosaur," Noah said. "Great. Just great."

The dinosaur roared and charged at him.

"Alright, let's do this," Noah said.

They clashed.

BOOM.

Noah blocked the attack, but his feet slid back.

"…Wait."

The dinosaur's skin turned dark.

"Is that… Armament Haki?" Noah said.

The dinosaur swung again.

Noah dodged.

"That's impossible. Animals shouldn't know how to use Haki."

The dinosaur opened its mouth.

Fire gathered.

"…Oh come on."

It fired a massive fireball.

"Vector Manipulation- Absolute Reflection."

The attack bounced back.

BOOM.

It exploded on the dinosaur.

Smoke filled the air.

Noah exhaled. "Okay… maybe that's it."

The dinosaur roared again releasing a massive shockwave.

Dust swirled around it like a tornado.

Noah covered his eyes. "Now what?"

The body began to change. Noah stood still with his hands up, watching as the beast growled and altered its form.

When the dust cleared.

Noah staggered back.

"…You've got to be kidding me."

A dragon stood in front of him. It roared releasing power waves of haki.

Noah's rubbed his eyes unable to accept what was happening.

"…Yeah. I'm not winning this."

The dragon released another wave of haki.

Noah tried to stand but his body gave out.

He collapsed.

"…This is how I go out? Seriously…?"

Everything went dark.

A few hours later…

Noah slowly opened his eyes.

"…Am I dead?"

Something felt soft under his head.

"…This is a nice afterlife."

"You are not dead." A voice said.

Noah blinked.

"…Oh."

He looked up.

A girl with silver hair stared down at him.

His head was in her lap.

Noah's eyes widened.

He shot up instantly.

"Who are you and why am I in your lap?!" Noah asked.

The girl blinked.

"My name is Yuki. Nice to meet you, human," she replied.

Noah stared at her.

"…Human?"

Yuki tilted her head. "Yes. That is what you are."

Noah pointed at himself. "Okay… fair. But why was I in your lap?"

"You were unconscious," Yuki replied.

"…So your solution was lap pillow?"

"Yes."

Noah paused.

"…I mean… I'm not complaining… but still."

Yuki looked at him confused. "Is that a problem?"

"No, no. It's just… unexpected." Noah replied.

She nodded. "Understood."

Noah looked around quickly.

"Wait...where's the dragon?!" he asked.

Yuki pointed behind him.

Noah slowly turned.

The dragon was lying on the ground sleeping.

"…Is it dead?" Noah asked.

"No," Yuki replied. "I told it to stop."

Noah froze.

"…You what?"

"I told it to stop," she repeated.

Noah looked at the dragon.

Then back at her.

"…You told a dragon… that almost killed me… to stop?"

"Yes."

"And it listened?"

"Yes."

Noah stared at her.

"…Okay. New rule."

"What rule?" Yuki asked.

"You're terrifying."

Yuki blinked.

"…Thank you?"

"No...that's not a compliment."

"Oh," she said.

There was a pause.

Noah rubbed his head. "Where am I exactly?" he asked.

Yuki looked at the sky.

"*******************."

Noah laughed.

"…Unbelievable."

Yuki looked back at him.

"where are you from."

Noah sighed.

"…some island far away."

He looked at her again.

"…So you're not human, right?"

Yuki smiled faintly.

"No."

Noah pointed at the dragon.

"…And that thing listens to you."

"Yes."

Noah took a deep breath.

"…Alright."

He looked at the sky.

[Noah's Thoughts]

"…Author you better have a good reason to why you sent me here."
