Chapter 311: Everyone Wants Resurrection

Holy City Inner Ring, Hyuga Residence.

The entire manor was built from warm, mutton-fat white jade. Its flying eaves tipped upward, suspending silver bells driven by Wind Style arrays.

A gentle breeze brushed past, the clear ringing instantly washing away the noise of the bustling city.

This was the absolute core of the Empire. Only members of the Akatsuki were permitted to reside here.

Inside the main hall, incense smoke curled upward.

Hiashi Hyuga sat perfectly straight to one side, his gaze resting on his eldest daughter.

Hinata still wore her long, purple-black hair, though a starlit brilliance now seemed to faintly circulate among the strands. She was dressed in a moon-white robe, its collar and cuffs outlined in pale gold patterns.

Every movement she made lacked the shadow of that former "timidity." In its place was a deep, abyssal calm—the overwhelming majesty of a superior looking down upon the masses.

She kept her eyes lowered, her fingertips lightly tapping the air. A scroll detailing the Holy City's educational system unrolled itself in midair, automatically annotating and approving itself according to her will.

This level of extreme micro-manipulation of chakra had reached a divine realm.

"Sister, try this. Uncle Kameda personally sent over these Southern Region desserts," Hanabi chirped. Like a nimble little deer, she held up a white porcelain saucer and leaned in close to Hinata.

Hinata put away the scroll, rubbing Hanabi's head as a gentle smile touched her lips.

Even though her disposition had radically changed, she still retained that familiar softness when facing her family.

"Father, you have something on your mind today," Hinata said, picking up her teacup. Her pure white eyes looked directly at Hiashi.

Hiashi's heart skipped a beat.

As the former clan head, he actually felt a sense of stifling constraint—like he was staring into an abyss—when facing his own daughter.

He set down his chopsticks, overwhelmed with emotion.

When Konohagakure fell, he assumed the Hyuga Clan would wither away with it. He never imagined that Hinata being captured by the Akatsuki would actually become the turning point for their family's absolute triumph.

Today, the Hyuga had completely broken free from the quagmire of the hidden village system.

In the Holy City, the disciples of the Hyuga controlled law enforcement and patrols, moving with unquestioned authority. The leaders of the Ino-Shika-Cho clans—who used to sit as equals with him—now had to bow respectfully whenever they crossed his path.

This massive leap in status kept his strict, old-fashioned heart in a state of constant excitement every single day.

"Hinata..." Hiashi carefully weighed his words, his tone probing. "Neji came to see me earlier. He... he didn't say anything. He just sat in front of Hizashi's memorial tablet for the entire day."

The air in the room grew heavy.

Hizashi Hyuga.

The younger brother who had marched to his death in the aftermath of the Third Great Ninja War, sacrificing himself to protect the Main House and to protect him, his older brother.

Guilt flashed through Hiashi's eyes. It was a shadow carved deep into his marrow.

"You must have seen the miracle Lord Konan performed at the end of today's ceremony," Hiashi said, his voice dropping low as his hands tightly gripped the fabric at his knees.

"Yahiko and Nagato, returning from the dead. That kind of miracle... it's not just Neji. Even I..." He didn't dare finish the sentence, instead staring intently at Hinata's reaction.

He knew that begging gods for a miracle was incredibly dangerous.

But he also knew exactly how much weight the current Hinata carried within the Akatsuki.

Hinata lowered her teacup. The porcelain clinked sharply against the table.

"Father," Hinata began calmly. Her voice echoed through the massive hall, carrying an unquestionable strength. "I will go speak with Lord Konan and Lord Alex."

Hiashi's breath hitched.

"Uncle Hizashi's soul has been sealed in the Pure Land for a long time, but its essence remains perfectly intact. With Lord Konan's mighty power, reconstructing his flesh and blood will take but an instant."

Hinata stood up, her moon-white robe trailing over the jade floor like passing clouds.

"And it won't just be Uncle Hizashi." Hinata turned her head, looking out the window toward the towering Angel God statue that pierced the clouds. "Mother will return as well."

"Mother?!" Hanabi gasped, nearly dropping the porcelain saucer.

That gentle face—one that only existed in blurry memories, having died in childbirth to bring her into the world—could actually return?

"Sister, are you telling the truth? Can Mother really..." Hanabi's eyes instantly turned red, her voice trembling.

"She will," Hinata nodded.

Absolute confidence shone in her eyes. "Lord Alex once said that the new world does not need regrets. As long as we display sufficient loyalty and value, the gods will not be stingy with their blessings."

Old tears streaked down Hiashi's face. He stood up abruptly, reaching out to pull his daughter into a hug, but stopped himself midair.

He realized that the Hinata standing before him was no longer just his daughter. She was the absolute upper echelon of the Hyuga Clan—and the entire Empire.

"Good... good! This way, I can finally give Hizashi a proper answer. And I can let your mother see with her own eyes what the Hyuga... what you have become today."

The very last trace of nostalgia Hiashi held for the old Konoha completely evaporated into thin air.

The Will of Fire? In the face of a miracle that could resurrect his closest family, the Will of Fire wasn't even worth being called garbage.

Right at that moment, the silver bells outside the manor shook violently.

An elite member of the Hyuga Branch House stepped inside quickly, kneeling on the floor. "Lady Hinata, the former Fifth Hokage, Tsunade, has requested an audience along with the remnants of Konoha."

Hinata raised a delicate eyebrow.

"They certainly moved fast."

Outside the manor doors.

Tsunade stood at the bottom of the steps, looking up at a Hyuga residence that was far more magnificent than the Hokage Residence had ever been. Her mind was a tangled mess.

Behind her stood Kurenai Yuhi, Anko Mitarashi, Shizune, and Sakura Haruno. All of them looked incredibly anxious, their clothes flapping restlessly in the evening wind.

They had struggled and plotted in taverns, only to ultimately realize that pride couldn't buy back the lives of the dead.

The great doors opened silently.

Hinata walked out slowly. She didn't intentionally release her oppressive aura, but the natural field emitted by her Six Paths level lifeform made the surrounding air feel as if it had solidified.

Tsunade looked up, making eye contact with Hinata.

With just one glance, the once world-renowned Princess of Konoha felt as if she had been struck by lightning.

It was absolute inferiority.

The Hinata standing before her had skin as clear as jade, and her pupils seemed to hide the power of both destruction and creation.

That condescending, overlooking gaze made Tsunade realize for the very first time that in the eyes of gods, all of these so-called "Kage" really were nothing more than ants.

"Lady Tsunade," Hinata said, her expression normal and her tone polite. "What brings you all here so late in the night?"

Tsunade's lips moved. The proud "Hokage" persona that she once valued over her own life now felt as heavy as Mount Tai, crushing her throat and making it impossible to speak.

But when she thought of Nawaki's smiling face—forever frozen in his teenage years—her spine finally gave way.

"Hinata..." Tsunade lowered her head slightly. Her voice was hoarse, carrying a trace of begging. "I want to see... Lord Alex."

Hinata looked at her former idol and elder. There was no mockery in her eyes, only a cold detachment that could only be called "Order."

"Lord Alex is currently handling matters," Hinata said, turning around. Her back looked impossibly high and unreachable under the ambient lights. "If you are here regarding the matter of resurrection, then come inside first. It just so happens that I need to compile the Empire's first "Resurrection List" anyway."

The hearts of Tsunade and the others pounded wildly.

A list.

That meant resurrecting the dead wasn't just a sudden whim of the gods—it was a reward with a clearly marked price.

Sakura looked at Hinata's noble back, her fingernails digging deeply into her palms.

Extreme envy, extreme complexity—a myriad of emotions piled up in her chest.

This former classmate had already grown into an existence completely out of her reach.

But, for the sake of that dead idiot, for the sake of the family she had lost...

They had no other choice.
