"I'm not blind, I've seen everything outside."

He spoke in a nonchalant tone.

Vivian suddenly remembered the question Curtis asked her that morning.

She looked up, gazing at the man in front of her.

His features were sharp, deeply set.

Sunlight streamed in through the window, scattering over the collar of his robe.

But then she remembered what he had said.

"Three months, the time is up, we go our separate ways."

He... he probably just said it casually, right?

Just said it casually, wouldn't take it seriously, wouldn't care.

Her throat moved slightly, her voice as light as a sigh.

"This morning I wanted to return the gemstone to him, he didn't take it."

Tristan chuckled softly.

"Why? Do you think it's not expensive enough?"

She shook her head, her eyes clear, her tone serious.

"Uncle has always been good to me. I don't want him to spend more money over this small matter."

She didn't want to argue about it, nor did she want to get entangled in unclear relationships.
