Chapter 12:Spirit Class Part 2
The large green wolf charged straight at me.
As it launched through the air, its body started to shrink rapidly in size.
It's now the size of an average house cat.
So instead of a giant wolf, I have a cat-sized green wolf slam directly into my chest, winding me.
"My spirit beast is a bit. Eccentric."
"Y-Ye, I feel that." As I lay my head on the table.
"Are you ok, Scott?"
"Will be."
"Will you play?"
"Uh, su-"
Be careful Scott, wind spirits can be quite deceiving at times.
They can?
Yeah, even if spirits feel more comfortable or secure around you, make sure to be on guard.

"Depends, what do you do for play?"
"Tag?"
"No!" The teacher and Sapphire say at the same time.
"Oook, how about some stories? I like stories, your fox must have plenty."
Oh, what kind of story? I have a few.
"Ohh, you do have stories, ones with juicy facts or secrets. If you tell me a good one, I'll try to give you something in return."
"Ehem, sadly, the spirit beast user is occupied right now, go to the other spirit user and annoy them."
Oh, but I like this person way more.
"Well, he's busy."
Finneeee.
"Scott, do you know why spirits seem to have a more favourable feel for you? Pale is similar, don't think he's a fan of Sapphire, though."
"I have no idea, sorry, Elias."
The wind spirit beast jumps from my lap to Elias's lap.
Elias is gently petting the wolf spirit.
"That's disappointing, I was hoping for some tips."
"Spirit beast user, can you come here, please? You've seen my spirit, now it's time to learn about your spirit beast."
"Right."
I get up, pick up my chair and walk toward this device on the teacher's desk/podium thing.
"So spirit beast user, please put your pendant on top of the device."
Putting the chair close enough for me to sit and lean over.
I put the pendant on top of the scan device.
The device comes to life with runes on all sides of the device lighting up.
It flashes in multiple colours, then what I can guess is pure mana being sent upwards, forming into symbols.
Different symbols appear almost like writing. Sadly, I have no idea what they mean.
The symbols soon change, however, becoming something readable.

A fragmented symbol appears, a circle with some sort of tendrils surrounding it.
Before changing into something else.
It starts to morph into something else, the tendrils and circles break apart and join together, they start to form something primitive and jagged, like it was carved into something, but incomplete, as the device shuts off.
Quick elias pov
Wrong, not young, old.
Yeah, that's what I also sensed, it's definitely old… You said you saw something different to me, right? I saw a paw before it changed to the incomplete symbol?
Layers, multiple symbols, symbols unknown, not human runes.
How? I thought runes were one language.
No, humans do not know others, but others exist, the fox shouldn't have it in another's runes, however.
So what? Someone else made her summon symbols?

Quick Teachers pov
T, that was a damaged gate. What does that mean? What hides behind it, I really want to know more… Sadly, I can't do more. Not until he can actually summon it. I don't need to report this to the Buru just yet.
You saw a gate? I saw an eye, I couldn't touch it. The wind let it pass, she must have protected many things for that to happen. I can't wait to hear her stories. The wind spirit replied.
Is that so, Windsbraut? This fox is more interesting than I could ever have hoped for.
Scott's pov.
Mmm, should I be happy or annoyed? It makes sense, it's only a bit of my mana, it won't be complete… I was sorta hoping you would be able to summon me a bit quicker, well, looks like I'm going to be stuck as a voice in your head for a while longer.
Not the reaction I expected, totally thought you'd freak out or something.
Eh, not too important really. Anyway, you should try getting a book on spirit beasts, so you can do your repeatable quest.
Ok? I'll ask the teacher where I can find some later.
"So spirit beast user, do you know why that almost broke my scanner? That type of response is not normal, it shouldn't crash."
"Nope, sorry, she isn't really giving me much to go off."
"Great, now that we have this out of the way, spirit user, can you summon your spirit?"
"Um, s-sure."
Time mana pools into Elias's eyes, turning them a golden colour. For Elias, his perception starts to slow down for a second before a ripple appears next to him.
Pale stands next to Elias, they appear as a humanoid spirit with ripped clothing, that starts to revert into fixed clothing before ripping once more.
"So, what kind of spirit is it?"
"According to Sapphire, Scott's spirit beast. Apparently, he's a time spirit, and from what I've experienced, that's true, I've been able to get time mana, and I've been able to partly use time magic, not very well, but I am improving."
"Oh, a rare kind of spirit, congrats. Now, I want you to interact with them. Doing positive activity with them can increase your bond, which means they trust you more, granting you more access to their magic."
"This is also the same for spirit beasts."
"Teacher, why is my spirit rare?"
"Well, it's not often that a time spirit bonds to someone. To my understanding, time spirits bond to people who are involved in important events or connected to important people, they apparently try to help this person change something the spirit doesn't like. This doesn't always mean it's good, though."
"O- oh."
"Ah, Pale is here to help don't worry, Elias."
"Y-ye, you're right, thanks."
"Spirit beast user, as you can't summon yours right now, just try talking to them, you might get your bond up."
"Ok, I'll do that. Oh, like if I get my bond up, do I get like magic or an ability or do I just get information, or does that depend on the spirit beast?"
"Well, it depends on what type it is, there are a couple of classifications. They're very easy to understand, but most will give you an ability per bond level. The main ones are warrior, mage, crafter and informer. You can guess what each will provide."
"Ah, ok, thank you."

Uhhh, I could technically fit them all, but I think for you I'm either a mage or a warrior.

Well, I've done a lot, so I know a few things, but that's not important.

Hello everyone, I keep on saying I'll release a chapter on Sunday, then I just don't. I'm sorry, I keep on doing other things :/ I know that's not good enough though.
I did struggle with what to write for this chapter for some reason, also, hopefully I'll get Scott into a club and have them go off somewhere, so something with a bit of action can happen.
