I posted the long version of this on my Patreon so I'll just drop the rundown real quick.
Hey everyone.
Ok, so let's cut the long story short. I've decided to put this story on hiatus for the time being.
As you are all aware of, I've been struggling to maintain the same writing pace I've had for most of the story, and the time between updates has been getting longer and longer.
At the end of the day, I realised I've finally reached that point where I am forcing myself to produce chapters and it is ... Mentally exhausting.
Frankly at this point, I feel like it is more of an obligation than something I actually want to do and I don't want to keep stringing everyone along with increasingly long gaps between chapters because I am clear on my current state at the moment.
At the same time, I want to give this an ending, but not really a rushed one.
I currently have plans for an ending. Or it's better to say that I can see where I want it to end.
To get to that ending, it will take another twenty or thirty chapters if I don't get something else I want to fit into the puzzle but I have cracked my head all week thinking and I currently can't create the buildup I want to get to that ending.
So a friend of mine advised me to take the pressure off.
The story isn't being abandoned. I'll continue working on it whenever I have the time, motivation, and ideas to do so, and chapters will still be posted here when they're ready.
However, I won't be treating it as a regularly updated series anymore because frankly, no excuses, I am .. just ... Really tired. You can probably tell just based on the pace I am churning up chapters.
Who knows what will happen cause I can't say, I will suddenly get inspired and return to my old pace because ... Well, the mileage so far is way too much.
I also tried writing something else to cool off but the result when I came back to this wasn't great.
In conclusion, I know this probably isn't the update some of you were hoping for, especially after such a long run.
I honestly feel bad writing this but I think it's better to be honest about where I'm at.
I'm currently putting my mind into something else to just cool off until I can get back to this.
I've already started posting too because this update is coming a few days late. Patreon is currently seven chapters ahead of this current point.
