Chapter 239 - Chapter 239: Enoch

"Enoch?!" Grandpa Max's eyes widened as he clenched his fists.

Enoch burst out laughing, staring at the mask in his hand.

"Grandpa Max, you old fossil. You're already retired. Why stick your nose into this mess?"

"Give back the Mask of Ah Puch!" Grandpa Max snapped through gritted teeth, his hand moving toward his waist.

Enoch wagged a finger in disdain.

"You're not young anymore. Keep opposing us, and the only ones who'll suffer are you and your family."

Click.

Grandpa Max raised his pistol and aimed it straight at him.

"If you don't return the mask right now, I won't go easy on you."

Enoch chuckled.

"I'd love to stay and chat, but I'm very busy. There's a supreme sword waiting for me to claim it. As for you…"

He smirked.

"Let them keep you entertained."

The moment his words fell, a surge of warriors flooded in from outside.

Fifty or sixty of them, dressed in grass-green combat jackets and gray masks, blue energy blades in hand, rushed forward with murderous intent.

Enoch let out a cold laugh and turned to leave.

"Enoch, get back here!" Grandpa Max shouted.

But dozens of Forever Knights were already charging toward them.

"Damn it!" Grandpa Max spun around, firing repeatedly as he engaged the Forever Knights.

Gwen began chanting, unleashing Water Magic. Torrents of surging water slammed into the enemy ranks.

Wildmutt plunged straight into the crowd, rampaging like an unstoppable prehistoric beast, sending the Forever Knights scattering in fear.

Ghostfreak had intended to chase after Enoch, but from the corner of his eye, he caught a sharp glint flashing near a window.

His purple eye shrank instantly.

A sniper rifle.

The target was Grandpa Max.

There was no time to think.

Ghostfreak flickered forward, turning into a streak of pale white as he positioned himself in front of Grandpa Max.

Bang!

In the blink of an eye, a bullet roaring with terrifying kinetic force slammed into Ghostfreak's palm.

"What?!" The sniper stiffened in shock, already preparing to retreat.

A missed shot meant the mission had failed—and his position was exposed.

If he didn't withdraw immediately, retaliation would be swift and merciless.

Ghostfreak glanced at the twisted, deformed bullet resting in his palm, thin wisps of white smoke rising from it.

"That's it?"

He looked out the window. His ghostly eye locked instantly onto the fleeing sniper.

A raspy laugh escaped him as he tore open the skin across his chest. Black-and-white tendrils burst outward, writhing wildly.

A thick purple beam shot forth, like a savage serpent from hell, blazing as it engulfed the sniper in an instant.

"Ahhh! Please, spare—"

Before he could finish, the purple beam reduced him to nothing, leaving not even a trace behind.

Ghostfreak turned back.

The Forever Knights were already sprawled across the ground, groaning in pain.

"Enoch took the Mask of Ah Puch! We have to catch him!" Grandpa Max shouted as he sprinted out first.

Wildmutt scooped up the stunned Gwen and bolted after him.

Ghostfreak followed at an unhurried pace behind them.

...

Everyone piled back into the Rustbucket.

Enoch was nowhere to be seen.

Grandpa Max slid into the driver's seat and activated the detector. A red dot blinked rapidly on the screen.

"The detector's locked onto the Mask of Ah Puch. We have to move now. We can't let Enoch get the Divine Sword. Buckle up."

He gripped the steering wheel and floored the gas.

Lucian and Ben exchanged a glance and shrugged.

"Grandpa, who exactly is Enoch?" Gwen asked.

Grandpa Max took a steady breath.

"They're the Forever Knights. They claim to be a righteous dragon-slaying order. In reality, they deal in stolen goods, traffic alien weapons, and have slaughtered countless innocent aliens."

"Oh my God… we can't let them get the Sword of Ek Chuaj." Gwen looked genuinely shaken.

The scenery outside blurred past in streaks.

The Rustbucket tore down the road at high speed. Within minutes, Enoch's vehicle came into view ahead.

The detector confirmed it—the Mask of Ah Puch was in that car.

Grandpa Max hit a red button.

A massive shield extended from the front of the Rustbucket.

He slammed the accelerator and rammed straight into the back of Enoch's vehicle.

At that moment, Enoch was holding the mask, peering through its green lens to determine the location of the Sword of Ek Chuaj.

"So it's there…" he muttered with a cold smile.

Boom!

The sudden impact made the vehicle lurch violently.

Enoch twisted around and spotted Grandpa Max behind him.

"You just won't die, will you?!" he snapped, then turned to his two bodyguards. "Go. Take care of them!"

The Rustbucket stayed glued to them, bearing down like a predator.

Two Forever Knights pushed open the sunroof, flung out steel cables, and hooked onto the Rustbucket.

They began climbing along the cables toward it.

Lucian didn't even bother transforming.

He stepped forward and yanked the hook loose.

The Forever Knights instantly lost their support. With a scream, they tumbled onto the highway and rolled across the asphalt.

Ben tried to transform, but the Omnitrix glowed red—it was still recharging.

Lucian tapped his watch, cycling through heroes.

Technorg, Jak the Freeze, Shadow Death Guard, Red Fox Princess, Upgrade, Muddragon, Sandbox, Rath…

His eyes narrowed, and he slammed his hand down.

A strange figure wrapped entirely in bandages appeared inside the Rustbucket. Its eyes glowed an eerie green.

The mummy wore a golden crown, resembling an ancient Egyptian pharaoh. Bandages fluttered around its body in the rushing wind.

"I'll get the mask."

With that, the mummy shot out strips of white bandage, snagged the vehicle ahead, and pulled himself forward.

Landing on top of Enoch's car, he clenched his fist and smashed a massive hole through the roof.

Several bandages lashed out, wrapping tightly around the Mask of Ah Puch and wrenching it free.

Enoch's strength was nothing compared to the mummy's.

Seeing the mask taken, Enoch's expression hardened. He jerked the steering wheel sharply and floored the accelerator.

The car veered off course, hurtling straight toward the cliff at the roadside.

"If you want to die, do it alone."

Snare-Oh's eyes flashed. He whipped out a swarm of bandages that coiled around the Rustbucket, then swung himself back inside.

Enoch and his vehicle plunged into the endless abyss below.
