The silver-white flag of the Holy Spirit Empire fluttered over the newly liberated Fish-Man Island, its golden phoenix emblem catching the artificial light of the Sunlight Tree Eve. To the world, it was a symbol of hope; to the World Government, it was a declaration of war.
Sith Auguro stood on the balcony of the Ryugu Palace, his hands resting on the cool coral railing. Behind him, the "Origin" hung at his waist, its hilt radiating a faint, multi-layered spiritual pressure that only those with high-level Haki or Reiatsu could sense.
"The first three tribute ships have already turned back, My Lord," a voice spoke from the shadows.
Out stepped Soi Fon, the Commander of the Onmitsukidō. Her movements were as silent as a ghost, her expression cold and professional. "Our envoys met them in the neutral waters of the New World. The Kings of those nations are terrified of the Celestial Dragons, but they are more terrified of the poverty caused by the Heavenly Tribute. When we showed them the footage of the Pacifistas being dismantled by our Seated Officers, their 'loyalty' to the World Government evaporated."
Auguro smirked, staring out at the vibrant sea forest. "Fear is a powerful motivator, Soi Fon, but hope is far more dangerous to a tyrant. The World Government has ruled through the monopoly of force. Now, they no longer have that monopoly."
"Ding!"
The familiar, crisp chime of the Supreme Divine Realm System rang in Auguro's mind.
"Congratulations to the Host! The Holy Spirit Empire has successfully annexed Fish-Man Island and established its first 'Vassal State' in the New World. Prestige has reached a new milestone!"
"Reward: 500,000 Achievement Points!"
"Additional Reward: High-Level Summoning Ticket x2 (Guaranteed Purple or higher)!"
"Empire Expansion Bonus: The 'Senkaimon' (World Gate) can now be permanently anchored between the Seireitei in Skypiea and Fish-Man Island!"
Auguro's eyes flickered with a hidden light. Five hundred thousand points. Combined with his current savings from the Fish-Man Island campaign, he was nearing a million. But the most valuable reward was the permanent Senkaimon. Logistics were the bane of any empire; with the ability to move troops instantly from the White Sea to the depths of the ocean, the Holy Spirit Empire was now tactically untouchable.
"Soi Fon," Auguro said aloud. "Begin the construction of the Senkaimon pillar in the Gyoncorde Plaza. I want our Soul Reapers to be able to reinforce this island at a moment's notice. Also... notify Unohana. I want a branch of the 4th Division established here. If we are to win the hearts of the people, we start by healing the wounds the World Government ignored."
"Understood," Soi Fon bowed and vanished in a blur of Shunpo.
The Holy Land, Mary Geoise
While Fish-Man Island celebrated, the atmosphere in the Room of Authority was suffocating. The Five Elders sat in their usual positions, but the air was thick with a killing intent that could have paralyzed an ordinary Vice-Admiral.
"The tribute is down by 15% this quarter," the bald Elder with the katana, St. Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, hissed. "And that is only the beginning. Reports are coming in from the North Blue and the Grand Line. Several member nations are 'delaying' their payments, citing pirate attacks that our Marines supposedly failed to prevent."
"It's not just the pirates," St. Topman Warcury slammed his fist onto the table, his mustache quivering. "It's him. Sith Auguro. That broadcast from Fish-Man Island has turned the 'Untouchable' status of the Celestial Dragons into a joke. He called them 'Fish Guts.' And the worst part? He offered them protection for free."
"Nothing is free," St. Jaygarcia Saturn muttered, his eyes narrowing behind his spectacles. "He is building a foundation. He isn't interested in gold; he is interested in the souls of the people. Every nation that defects to him is a loss of our 'faith' and our resources."
"The Marines are stretched thin," the Elder with the long beard, St. Marcus Mars, added. "Sakazuki is demanding more funding for his 'Absolute Justice' initiative, but with the tribute falling, we cannot even maintain the current Pacifista production line. Auguro is suffocating us economically while he grows stronger by the day."
"We cannot wait for the Reverie," Nusjuro said, his hand tightening on his blade. "If we allow this 'Holy Spirit Empire' to exist for another year, the World Government will collapse from the inside out. We need to strike. Not a skirmish, not a blockade. A total annihilation."
"But who?" Saturn asked. "Aokiji failed to stop them at Enies Lobby. Kizaru was stalled at the Sabaody incident. Even Garp refuses to move against a boy he considers 'interesting.' If we send an Admiral and they lose, the world will truly fall into chaos."
"Then we don't send an Admiral," Warcury said, a dark shadow crossing his face. "We activate the God's Knights. And we give Sakazuki the order he has been waiting for. A 'Buster Call' is too small for this. We need a 'Cleansing' of the New World."
Back on Fish-Man Island – The Ryugu Palace Gardens
Auguro sat at a table with Nico Robin and Nami. Nami was busy looking over a mountain of treasure logs—the wealth Auguro had confiscated from the New Fish-Man Pirates and the corrupt officials he'd ousted.
"Auguro, do you realize how much we're spending on this 'free' protection?" Nami asked, her eyes shaped like Berries, but her voice tinged with genuine concern. "The logistics of shipping supplies from Skypiea down here is astronomical. Even with the new Gate, we're bleeding money."
"We aren't bleeding, Nami. We're investing," Auguro replied, sipping a cup of tea. "In the World Government's system, money is extracted. In my Empire, money is circulated. By providing safety, trade increases. By increasing trade, our daily Achievement Points from the System increase. Within three months, the 'tax' we don't collect will be repaid to me tenfold in System rewards."
Robin, meanwhile, was looking at a rubbing of the Poneglyph found in the Sea Forest. "Auguro, this Poneglyph... it's an apology from Joy Boy. But it mentions something else. A 'Great Cleansing' that happened 800 years ago. The World Government uses it as a threat. If you continue to provoke them like this, they might use 'That' weapon."
Auguro set his tea down. "Uranus?"
Robin's eyes widened. "You know of it?"
"I know many things, Robin. I know that the Five Elders are puppets, and I know that someone sits on the Empty Throne," Auguro said calmly. "But they forget one thing. They are fighting a war of the physical world. I am building a realm of the Spirit."
He stood up and walked toward the center of the garden. "System, use the two High-Level Summoning Tickets."
"Acknowledged. Initiating High-Level Summoning... Drawing from the 'Gotei 13 Captain/Vice-Captain Pool'..."
The air in the garden suddenly grew heavy. A golden light erupted from the ground, swirling into three distinct pillars of spiritual energy. The pressure was so immense that even Nami, who had grown much stronger under Auguro's tutelage, felt her knees buckle.
"Ding! Congratulations! You have summoned the following:"
[Purple] - 3rd Division Vice-Captain: Izuru Kira. 2. [Gold] - 11th Division Captain: Kenpachi Zaraki.
[Gold] - 6th Division Captain: Byakuya Kuchiki.
As the light faded, three figures stood before Auguro.
On the left, a blonde youth with a melancholic expression, carrying a hook-shaped blade (Wabisuke).
In the center, a towering monster of a man with jagged hair, an eyepatch, and a spiritual pressure so violent it felt like physical blades cutting the air.
On the right, a nobleman with long hair held by Kenseikan, his expression one of absolute arrogance and coldness, draped in a white captain's haori.
Kenpachi Zaraki looked around, his one eye landing on Auguro. He bared his teeth in a terrifying grin. "So... you're the one who brought me here? I hope there's someone in this world worth cutting. That guy with the ice and the guy with the magma... they looked fun on the way in."
Byakuya Kuchiki remained silent, his gaze sweeping over the coral palace with disdain. "A kingdom under the sea? How uncivilized. However, as you are the Soul King of this realm, I shall offer my blade to uphold the law of your Empire."
Auguro laughed. The arrival of Kenpachi and Byakuya changed everything. With Soi Fon, Unohana, and now these two, he had the equivalent of four Admiral-level fighters—and in Kenpachi's case, perhaps something even beyond that.
"Welcome to the New World," Auguro said, his voice echoing with the power of the Soul King. "Kenpachi, you want to fight? The World Government is currently gathering a fleet to destroy us. You can have as many 'fun' fights as you want."
Kenpachi's grin widened, his Reiatsu flaring so hard the palace walls began to crack. "Now that is what I wanted to hear!"
"System," Auguro whispered internally. "Check my feedback."
"Ding! Feedback processing... Host has received 20% of Kenpachi Zaraki's physical strength and 15% of Byakuya Kuchiki's Kido mastery. The Zanpakutō 'Origin' has absorbed the templates of 'Nozarashi' and 'Senbonzakura'!"
Auguro felt a surge of raw, primal power course through his veins. His muscles tightened, and his vision sharpened. He could feel the cherry blossoms of Senbonzakura waiting to be unleashed, and the world-splitting weight of Nozarashi dwelling within his hilt.
"The World Government thinks they are the hunters," Auguro muttered, looking up toward the distant surface. "But they've never encountered a Shinigami."
At that moment, an alarm rang out across Fish-Man Island. A scout from the Empire's peripheral guard—a group of reformed New Fish-Man pirates—ran into the garden, his face pale with terror.
"Lord Auguro! Multiple signatures detected at the Red Line elevator! It's not the Marines! It's... it's a fleet of black ships! They carry the emblem of the World Government, but they aren't flying the Marine flag!"
Auguro's eyes narrowed. "The God's Knights. They're early."
He turned to Byakuya and Kenpachi. "It seems your first mission has arrived. Byakuya, take the 6th Division members and secure the plaza. Kenpachi... do whatever you want. Just make sure none of them leave the ocean floor alive."
Kenpachi didn't even wait for a second command. With a roar of laughter, he leaped into the air, smashing through the palace roof and hurtling toward the encroaching fleet like a meteor of pure destruction.
The war for the New World had officially begun
