As the green vortex crackled with apocalyptic energy, Lulu suddenly slapped her forehead, remembering something crucial over the roaring wind.
"Wait, Lexel! Before you go jumping headfirst into a dimensional warzone, don't forget you still have that unclaimed reward from the last quest!" she shouted, pointing a finger at him. "You have three rolls with a D8 destiny die to bank some extra Skill Points!"
With a soft, golden hum of system magic, a translucent, eight-sided die manifested directly out of thin air, dropping heavily into Lexel's open palm.
Lexel didn't even pause his stride. Keeping his arms mostly crossed and his bathrobe completely open to the wind, he casually tossed the die over his shoulder onto the stone floor of the pavilion as he began leaping down from the highest point of the tower.
The D8 bounced sharply against the ancient masonry, spinning at a blinding speed before snapping to a sudden, rigid halt. The topmost facet gleamed with a brilliant, golden light.
