CHAPTER 2 PART 1: THE UNEXPECTED IDOL
Dawn had broken, marking the beginning of the morning and the second day of Mao Yu's new life as a woman.
"Khoooghhhh... Fwuhhh... Khoooghhhh..."
An incredibly loud snoring sound echoed inside the guest room. Mao Yu—whose original soul was Kim Yu—slept flat on her back in a completely messy position, truly displaying her bad habit from when she was still a biological guy.
BRAKKK!
The bedroom door was suddenly kicked open with great force from the outside. Han Na stepped in with an exploding aura and shouted with roaring enthusiasm, "Come on.... My beloved little sister, wake uuuupppp!"
"Uwaakh?!"
Mao Yu was scared out of her wits, her body nearly jumping off the mattress. With eyes still blinking heavily from extreme drowsiness and her mouth wide open like a foolish, starving person, she stared at her older sister in a daze.
"Sister... you scared me, you know!" Mao Yu complained, her breath still ragged from the sudden morning heart attack.
Grumbling softly, she got off the bed and dragged her weak steps toward the bathroom. A few moments later, after finishing cleaning herself up, Mao Yu walked toward the kitchen with a small towel draped helplessly over her shoulder. She pulled out a wooden chair and sat at the dining table listlessly.
"...Uh, Sister, is..."
"Don't talk so much! Quickly finish your food. After this, we have to go straight to the mall to buy your clothes and all other women's necessities!" Han Na interrupted, her eyes sparkling with intense enthusiasm.
Mao Yu could only let out a long sigh, her shoulders slumping. "...Ahhh... yes," she replied helplessly, realizing that she would never win an argument against her super-dominant older sister.
After finishing breakfast, the first torture began. Mao Yu was forced to wear one of her sister's clothes, which had a somewhat feminine model, since she didn't own any women's clothing at all yet.
"Sister.... Isn't this a bit too much...?" Mao Yu asked with a blushing red face, feeling highly uncomfortable and embarrassed by the silhouette of her new body, which was clearly outlined.
"Just shut up! Wear that for the time being!" Han Na said with a somewhat lazy face, completely ignoring her younger sister's protest.
Without wasting any more time, the two of them quickly rushed out of the house and drove to the largest mall in the city center. Upon arriving there, Han Na immediately pulled Mao Yu's hand cheerfully, roaming from one clothing store to another.
Mao Yu glanced at her phone screen, which showed exactly 10 AM. Since it coincided with the school's annual holiday, the mall area was already starting to get crowded, packed with a sea of visitors.
"Sister... I have a somewhat bad feeling about this," Mao Yu whispered awkwardly, her hand reflexively holding the back of her neck because she felt the surrounding atmosphere suddenly turn burning hot from people's attention.
"Oh, stop complaining! Besides, we've only bought half of our shopping list!" replied Han Na, who was still busy picking through piles of the latest fashion clothes, then pulled Mao Yu toward the body measurement area.
This was where the comedic disaster moment happened. A young male designer was tasked with measuring Mao Yu's body proportions. However, the moment the measuring tape touched Mao Yu's overly perfect, slender, and beautiful body curves, the man's face suddenly turned bright red.
Sreeettt... CRITT!
The man suddenly suffered a massive nosebleed. Fresh blood gushed from his nose, and his body suddenly trembled violently, holding back an extraordinary surge in both the lower and upper parts of his body.
"S-sorry, Miss... I... I can't continue this!" the man shrieked in a high-pitched voice, holding back his shame, and then ran away at full speed while covering his nose.
Han Na could only gape in disbelief, while Mao Yu wished she could sink into the mall floor out of sheer embarrassment. In the end, the measurement process had to be taken over by a female employee.
After completing several payment transactions, Mao Yu, who was now holding several shopping bags, felt discomfort in her stomach. She asked her sister for permission to go to the restroom because she needed to urinate—and also to escape for a moment from the crushing embarrassment.
However, the drama was not over. When she reached the restroom area, her old habit as a man automatically guided her steps into the men's restroom. Inside, she stood in a daze in front of a urinal, freezing for a few minutes while thinking hard with a pale face: "How... how am I supposed to pee with a body like this?!"
After realizing her fatal mistake, Mao Yu immediately spun her body around and walked out of the men's restroom with a face as red as a boiled crab. Even though the restroom area happened to be quiet at that time, the foolish incident successfully made Mao Yu feel like a disgraced deity. Her brain kept overthinking the incident until she walked aimlessly, finally halting her steps when she was snapped out of it by a small sobbing sound.
"Sob... sob... Huwaaaa..."
On a long bench in a rather quiet mall corridor, a little girl with blonde hair was sitting all by herself, sobbing heavily. Mao Yu looked left and right, trying to find an adult around the child, but there was no one.
Feeling pity seeing the child's condition, Mao Yu stepped closer and squatted in front of her.
"Uh... Kiddo, where are your parents?" Mao Yu asked in a very low, soft voice, filled with worry.
Hearing an unfamiliar voice, the little girl looked up. But instead of calming down, seeing a stranger in front of her only made her terrified. "Uwwwahhhhh! Mommy!" Her crying burst out even louder.
Mao Yu instantly panicked, her hands moving back and forth anxiously, fearing she would be mistaken for a child kidnapper. "Eh... d-don't cry, Kiddo. Big Sister doesn't mean any harm, Big Sister just wants to help so you won't cry anymore," Mao Yu said, trying to soothe her with an awkward yet sincere facial expression.
"I... g-got... separated from mommy... sob..." the little girl said between her loud sobs.
"Calm down first, okay. Let Big Sister help you find your mommy," Mao Yu said with a warm, reassuring smile, then sat down next to the little girl on the long bench.
The little girl stared at Mao Yu's beautiful face, feeling warmth from the gaze of her eyes. "Nod... okay," she replied while nodding her head slowly. Her crying began to subside, leaving only small whimpers.
"You know? Big Sister also got separated from Big Sister's dad once when I was little," Mao Yu said, trying to open a conversation and distract the child's attention by sharing her own childhood experience.
The little girl stayed still, opening her ears wide to listen to Mao Yu's story. With an expressive facial expression, Mao Yu told a story about how, when she was a child, she once got lost in a massive mall all by herself. Back then, she cried fearfully at the edge of the sidewalk, thinking she wouldn't be able to go home. However, a very kind security guard came to guide her, calmed her down with ice cream, until finally, she managed to reunite with her panicked father who was looking for her.
Mao Yu told the end of the story with eyes sparkling with happiness. While telling the story, she gently held the little girl's tiny hand, guiding her to walk toward the mall's security post. There, they were greeted by a security guard on duty.
"Excuse me... Sir, I want to let you know that I found this sweet little girl lost," Mao Yu said with highly polite words and a mesmerizing smile.
The security guard who saw Mao Yu's face was instantly struck. His cheeks flushed a stiff red, and with a perfect straight posture, he shouted firmly, "Understood and ready to execute, beautiful Miss!"
With stiff, robotic movements, the guard immediately went to his desk, turned on the mall's loudspeaker microphone to announce that a child was lost. While waiting, Mao Yu and the little girl were invited to sit on the chairs at the security post.
"Big Sister... after getting lost back then, did you immediately hug your dad?" the little girl asked, her face now looking bright and curious again.
"Yes! Big Sister was so happy and actually wanted to thank that kind security guard again... but unfortunately, after that day, we never met again," Mao Yu said enthusiastically, but a second later her facial expression turned into a sad pout that looked incredibly cute and adorable.
Seeing the dramatic change in expression, the little girl giggled. "Hihihi... Big Sister is so funny!" she said with a sweet, innocent smile.
Mao Yu found it adorable herself. She gently stroked the girl's blonde hair. "You remind me of my niece who is sooooo cute, and also my childhood friend who was no less cute back then," Mao Yu praised with a facial expression that softened with warmth.
The little girl looked up, her eyes sparkling with admiration. "Big Sister is also veeeryyyy, reaaallyyy beautiful!" she said in a loud, cute voice, accompanied by a sweet, genuine smile.
Blush!
"Oh... r-right, thank you," Mao Yu answered stammering. Her cheeks flushed red all the way to her neck. In her heart, she cursed herself: "Damn it, what is wrong with me lately? Why do I get flustered so easily and act like a real girl?! This is weird!"
Amidst Mao Yu's internal turmoil, the two of them continued their light conversation for a while.
"Um.. Big Sister, what's your name?" the child asked politely, tilting her head slightly to the right, typical of children in general.
"Big Sister's name is Mao Yu, just call me Sister Mao," Mao Yu said in an extremely soft tone.
"My name is An Na!" she answered cheerfully.
Suddenly, from the end of the security post corridor, a woman around 29 years old ran frantically toward them with a deathly pale face and somewhat messy hair. The woman screamed hysterically, "An Na!"
Hearing the voice she recognized so well, the little girl turned around and exclaimed with a look of pure joy, "Mommy!"
An Na immediately jumped from her chair and ran as fast as possible into her mother's embrace. The two of them hugged tightly on the floor, crying together, releasing a bursting sense of relief. The reunion moment felt deeply moving, a mix of terrifying grief and overwhelming happiness. Mao Yu slowly stood up from her chair, witnessing the beautiful sight with a genuine smile carved on her lips.
"Why did you disappear so suddenly? Mommy was worried sick, sweetie!" the mother said while hugging An Na's body tightly, as if afraid of losing her child again.
"I'm sorry, Mommy... Sob, An Na promises not to be naughty again," An Na regretted while crying on her mother's shoulder.
The security guard who made the announcement earlier approached the two of them, clearing his throat softly to give some advice. "Ma'am, next time you have to be more careful in watching your daughter, so a terrifying incident like this won't happen again," the guard said in a firm yet friendly tone.
"Thank you very much, Officer. Thank you..." the mother said while standing up, then bowed her body deeply as a sign of utmost gratitude and respect.
The guard chuckled softly while scratching the back of his neck, which wasn't itchy. "Ah, no, Ma'am. I'm not the one who deserves the credit, but the beautiful lady over there who accompanied your child so she wouldn't cry and stayed calm, then asked for my help," the guard said, smiling and pointing toward Mao Yu.
Mao Yu, who was suddenly pointed at, could only freeze in surprise with blinking, innocent eyes. However, before she could utter a single word, An Na's mother had already darted forward and directly hugged Mao Yu's body tightly, pouring out all of her endless gratitude.
"Thank you so much, Miss! Thank you for watching over my daughter!" the mother said amidst her tears of joy.
"A... I... Yes, you're welcome, Ma'am. It's my duty," Mao Yu answered stuttering, awkwardly returning the mother's warm hug because her sensitive chest was pressed by the hug.
After the emotional and moving moment concluded, the mother said goodbye to go home with her daughter. While walking away, An Na kept turning her body around, waving her right hand cheerfully and shouting loudly, "Thank you very much, Sister Mao! I will always remember you and miss you!"
Mao Yu waved back with a warm smile until their figures disappeared behind the mall corridor's turn. However, Mao Yu's peace did not last long. The next second, the sound of heavily stomping footsteps was heard approaching, followed by a very familiar, shrill scream.
"MAO YU!"
Mao Yu turned around slowly, finding her older sister running frantically toward her with a face already bright red, holding back anger.
"Oh... Sister," Mao Yu said with a flat, innocent expression.
PLAK!
"You annoying little sister! I've been looking for you everywhere until I almost went crazy, and here you are doing what?!" Han Na snapped while landing a playful smack on top of Mao Yu's head. The security guard who saw the incident immediately widened his eyes in shock.
"Ouch...! Sister, that hurts! I was helping someone else in trouble!" Mao Yu complained while holding her throbbing head.
Seeing her younger sister in pain, Han Na sighed, her anger suddenly evaporating, replaced by guilt. "It's just... I was really worried about you, you know," Han Na said softly, taking turns holding her sister's head gently.
"I'm sorry, Sister," Mao Yu said while flashing an extremely genuine, sweet smile to calm her sister down.
However, the effect of Mao Yu's sweet smile was completely unexpected. Right at that moment, Han Na's face suddenly flushed red because her heart melted seeing her sister's over-the-top beauty. Meanwhile, the security guard who had been watching from behind them suddenly froze like ice, before finally...
CRIIITT!
Fresh blood once again shot out heavily from both of the guard's nostrils, unable to withstand the visual impact of Mao Yu's beautiful and adorable face.
"Alright, we need to go back to the parking lot and head home now. The clothes and items we need are almost completely bought anyway," Han Na said, trying to act casual to cover her embarrassment, while pointing toward the exit.
The two of them said a brief goodbye to the security guard, then stepped away, leaving the security post.
Meanwhile, the security guard left behind was still standing frozen with a bleeding nose. His eyes stared at the mall ceiling with a dramatic, blank gaze. "Why...? Why does the existence of a girl as beautiful as her truly make me feel alive again...?" he murmured poetically.
And... BRUK!
The security guard immediately fainted, collapsing helplessly onto the security post floor. Not long after, two of his friends who had just returned from outside to buy breakfast instantly jumped in shock seeing their colleague already lying down in a critical condition with a bleeding nose on the floor.
In the underground parking area, Mao Yu stared at the rows of back seats in her sister's car, which were now completely packed with a mountain of an extraordinary amount of shopping bags.
"Why did you buy this many things?!" Mao Yu complained, shivering at the sight of their shopping total.
"What are you talking about? This is just a little bit, you know! Besides, listen here... a beautiful girl must always look beautiful and fashionable wherever she is!" Han Na replied with an undeniable final tone while starting the car engine and driving it out of the mall.
The journey home went smoothly. However, the moment their car turned to enter the front yard area of their house, Han Na suddenly slammed on the brakes, causing both of their bodies to jerk forward. Han Na was beyond shocked to see a figure of an unfamiliar man standing upright right in front of their house door, wearing a long suit completed with a fedora hat, resembling a detective's outfit in classic movies.
"What's wrong, Sister?" Mao Yu asked, confused because the car stopped abruptly.
"I don't know... Why is there a weird person standing in front of our house?" Han Na answered with a furrowed brow.
The two of them decided to get out of the car, stepping slowly toward the mysterious person with a high level of alertness.
"Excuse me. Is there anything I can help you with?" Han Na asked with a facial expression that looked quite guarded, ready to enter a fighting stance if this person intended harm.
However, unexpectedly, the man in the detective outfit suddenly dropped to his knees. His face turned completely pitiful, and crocodile tears began to flow heavily from his eyes as if he were the most miserable person in the world. While raising both of his hands, begging like a fool, he shouted dramatically, "Please help me, I command you... uh wrong, I beg you, please help meeee!"
Han Na and Mao Yu looked at each other, sweatdropping at the man's bizarre behavior. "Help... help with what exactly, Sir?" Han Na asked, puzzled.
The man looked up, his watery eyes heading straight toward Mao Yu, who was standing behind her older sister. "I am asking for help... please let the beautiful girl next to you join as an Idol in our agency group!" the man said with a roaring voice full of pleading.
"W.... What?!" Mao Yu startled back, pointing at herself with a shocked face.
Han Na immediately shielded her younger sister, her facial expression turning anxious and confused. "Wait a minute! On what basis do you suddenly come here and invite my sister to become an Idol?! Who even are you?!"
"Because your younger sister is currently highly viral across the entire social media world and various internet platforms!" the man exclaimed enthusiastically. With a swift movement, he reached into his suit pocket, pulled out a smartphone, and directly showed its digital screen in front of Han Na and Mao Yu's faces.
On the screen, dozens of video posts and photos showing Mao Yu's figure from yesterday morning were scattered everywhere. Photos of her wearing a plain, thin white t-shirt and tight short pants while shopping at Alfamart had spread widely, filled with millions of likes and thousands of praise comments from netizens.
"W... H... A... T....?!"
Mao Yu and Han Na screamed in unison, their eyes nearly popping out of their sockets from absolute shock.
Han Na suddenly turned toward her younger sister with a sharp, annoyed glare. "You... Why on earth did you dress that boldly outside the house, huh?!" Han Na scolded, veins bulging on her forehead.
"S-Sister! That... yesterday I really wasn't fully aware of my change yet, and I immediately went shopping at Alfamart because my stomach was starving and I wanted to eat!" Mao Yu defended herself with a face blushing bright red from embarrassment, wishing she could bury herself alive into the Earth's core upon seeing her own photos looking very sexy on the internet.
The man in the detective outfit interrupted again, "This photo and video became so viral to the point that many netizens commented that you are a top-tier celebrity in disguise, and various other worshiping comments!" he explained with eyes sparkling with business ambition.
Han Na, who was starting to regain her composure, stared at the man with an intimidating look. "Then... how do you know our house location this precisely? Are you a criminal stalker?!" Han Na asked suspiciously.
"Oh, as for that... everything is in this follow-up post, you see!" the man answered casually without any guilt. He swiped the phone screen, showing a close-up photo and a short video recording. "Someone caught a photo of the moment when you—beautiful Miss—were being intimate and hugging tightly with a handsome guy with blue hair in front of this house's fence. And in this video, you can also be clearly heard saying you want to go inside this exact house."
The man smiled with satisfaction, adjusting his fedora hat with a gaze that turned highly serious. "So... that is how I managed to find out this house's location, through the video circulating on the internet!"
Hearing that terrifyingly rational explanation, Mao Yu could only stand frozen with her mouth wide open. Her body suddenly stiffened, enveloped by an extraordinary sense of shock to the point that she couldn't utter a single word anymore to argue.
