Lucas saw how Stella looked and felt a pang of sympathy, so he quickly took out a handkerchief and handed it to her.
"Second Miss, please don't cry."
Stella snapped back to her senses. "I'm not crying."
"Then wipe your eyes. Your makeup is smudged."
Lucas spoke cautiously.
Stella took the handkerchief from his hand, then rummaged in her bag for a small mirror, and began touching up her makeup right there in front of Lucas.
Lucas stood by quietly, not saying a word.
"Do I look better now?"
After a long while, Stella finally turned to ask.
Lucas nodded, giving her a thumbs up in admiration, "Second Miss, you look stunning even with just a little touch-up. You look... you look..."
"Didn't you say your Chinese is really good? The phrase is 'as beautiful as a fairy.' Remember it."
Stella patiently corrected him.
"Praise women like that in the future, they'll be very happy."
Lucas nodded earnestly. "Okay, I'll remember that, Second Miss."
