Back when I was at Sterling, it was clearly Phillip Langdon who was harassing me. Yet, through the sharp tongues of some, it turned into a rumor that I was using my body to climb the ranks. Eventually, someone went to Phillip Langdon's wife and exaggerated the story, making me the laughing stock of the company for a time.
Back then, I was still young and would argue for myself, even considering quitting and leaving Sterling to clear my name.
But later, I realized that no matter what I said or did, people would only believe what they wanted to believe.
Since then, I no longer held any expectations for the colleagues and bosses around me, always assuming the worst of them.
All I wanted was to work hard, climb to a higher position, and not let anyone's gossip stop my progress.
Some people just can't stand to see others succeed.
