Before Eve came, Lucas hadn't told her that Stellan was here... for a blind date.
For a moment, she didn't even know where to look.
"Is that your assistant?"
Serena Donovan paused, turned her head and glanced at Eve, then greeted her openly with a friendly smile.
Stellan nodded. "Yes."
"I've heard a bit about the two of you."
Serena stopped mid-sentence and didn't continue.
But the meaning was clear: everyone in their circle already knew about all those unpleasant rumors between them.
It's just that people thought it wasn't a big deal for the boss to have something going on with his assistant—after all, the executive assistant was always carefully selected for his own tastes.
"Don't worry, I didn't mean anything by it. Even if there's something between you two, it doesn't bother me."
Serena noticed Stellan's expression darken, then smiled again, trying to explain.
They exchanged a few polite words, and then a staff member drove Serena's car over.
