The moment Olivia's scream had echoed, the pale maid panicked. She turned on her heel and bolted toward the heavy garden doors—but the doors were already swinging open. Leon was stepping inside, his brows furrowed in confusion at the sudden uproar.
"Leon! Grab her!" Olivia shrieked.
With the lightning-fast reflexes of a trained knight, Leon didn't ask questions. He lunged forward, intercepting the fleeing maid effortlessly, and dragging her back. The maid began to thrash wildly, her boots scraping against the stone tiles as a desperate, animalistic sob tore from her throat.
"Please, My Lord! Let me go! I didn't do anything! I swear by the heavens, I am innocent!" she wailed, her tears cutting through the heavy powder on her face.
Leon ignored her entirely, his gaze locking onto his sister-in-law's rigid form as he dragged the girl down, pinning her shoulders flat against the stone floor to keep her from writhing. "What is the matter, sister-in-law?"
