Part 6 — The Red Bowl
The morning air felt cooler outside the house.
The triplets walked quietly through the streets together.
None of them spoke much.
Not because they were angry—
but because too many thoughts still filled their heads.
Haruto occasionally looked down while walking.
Kaito yawned once while adjusting his bag.
And Ayame quietly walked slightly ahead now—
making sure they kept moving.
Eventually—
the familiar ramen shop came into view near the corner street.
Warm steam drifted softly from the entrance.
The Red Bowl
As the triplets stepped inside—
the warmth of the restaurant immediately contrasted the cold tension outside.
Several seats were still empty this early.
And near one of the tables—
Miri was already eating quietly.
She looked up briefly when the triplets entered.
"…Morning."
Ayame nodded politely.
"…Morning."
Kaito raised one hand lazily.
"…You came early…"
Miri quietly continued eating.
"…Couldn't sleep."
No one replied after that.
Because all of them understood that feeling now.
Behind the counter—
Yuji was already preparing food calmly.
The older man glanced toward the triplets briefly.
"…Sit."
The three quietly obeyed.
A few moments later—
Yuji carried over three steaming bowls himself and placed them down one by one.
Fresh miso ramen.
Warm steam rose softly into the air.
"…Eat before it gets cold."
Haruto quietly nodded.
"…Thank you, Yuji-san."
Kaito immediately started eating first.
Ayame followed quietly after.
For a while—
the only sounds were:
chopsticks
quiet broth movement
soft kitchen noise behind the counter
No one really felt like talking.
Yuji noticed immediately.
So after several quiet minutes—
he finally spoke while cleaning part of the counter.
"…How's the academy?"
Kaito looked up slightly.
"…Quiet…"
Yuji grunted once.
"…Teachers still teaching properly?"
Ayame nodded.
"…Yeah."
"…Good."
A pause.
Then Yuji looked toward Haruto briefly.
"…And you?"
Haruto blinked slightly.
"…What?"
"…Still sleeping during lessons?"
Kaito immediately pointed at Haruto.
"…He doesn't even sleep that much anymore."
"…Unlike you."
"…That's false information."
For the first time that morning—
a very small amount of normal energy returned to the table.
Yuji quietly continued cleaning while letting the conversation drift naturally.
Exactly like he intended.
Slowly redirecting their minds away from Akari leaving.
