Part 6 — Fear and Responsibility
The bell's echo slowly faded across the classroom.
Students returned to their seats quietly.
Lunch boxes disappeared back into bags.
Conversations faded almost immediately.
And once again—
the classroom felt heavy.
A few moments later, the door slid open.
Daigo stepped back inside.
His eyes moved across the room slowly.
He immediately noticed it.
The silence.
The fear.
The way even the smallest movements felt restrained now.
For a few seconds, he said nothing.
Then he walked toward the front of the classroom calmly.
"…Before we continue."
The students looked toward him.
Daigo rested one hand lightly against the desk.
"…Fear during uncertain times is normal."
Nobody spoke.
Because everyone inside the room had been trying to hide exactly that since morning.
Daigo continued calmly.
"…The academy was never built to create people who never feel fear."
"…That would be impossible."
His gaze shifted across the class.
"…It exists to teach people how to continue moving even while afraid."
The room remained completely silent.
Even Haruto looked up slightly.
Daigo's voice stayed steady.
"…One day, this village will belong to your generation."
"…Not ours."
"…Yours."
Several students lowered their eyes slightly hearing that.
The weight behind those words felt heavier than inspiration.
It felt like responsibility.
Daigo folded his arms lightly.
"…That's why your generation matters."
"…Not because you are fearless."
"…But because one day, people may rely on you during moments exactly like this."
Outside the windows, distant shinobi movement crossed the rooftops again briefly.
Nobody looked this time.
They were all listening now.
Daigo's expression softened slightly.
"…So don't waste energy trying to pretend you aren't scared."
"…Focus instead on whether you can still stand despite it."
Silence followed.
Long.
Heavy.
Then Daigo reached for the chalk again.
"…Now open your notebooks."
Chairs shifted softly.
Students slowly began moving again.
But Haruto didn't.
His hands had tightened into fists beneath the desk.
His breathing uneven again.
Daigo's words kept repeating inside his head.
"People may rely on you."
"Continue moving despite fear."
"Your generation matters."
Then why—
