Chapter 1 - flowing

On a sunny morning, everything was going as usual. Life was proceeding naturally, everything moving without stopping.

In the morning, the children headed to school, just like any ordinary day — girls and boys going to Toshiya High School.

In class E-3, in room number seven, the students were preparing for their school day.

Some of them were studying with fear, and some didn't even know where they were.

There was a student in the corner sleeping on his desk, trying to rest or doze off after the end of the school classes, and Kanami was still asleep.

The school bell rang loudly. He woke up from his beautiful dreams. "Huh, where am I?" He looked around the empty room. "Yes, school"

He got up from his desk to leave.

It was raining, and Kanami was returning to his apartment, walking through the streets of the city. Everything looked empty and dull because of the beauty of the dark sky.

Later, Kanami tried to dry himself. Taking off the wet school uniform for a bath before going to his night shift. After a good meal, he closed the door behind him and left.

In an old store at the gas station, Kanami was arranging goods on the shelves, working as usual for about six months. He's not even twenty years old at that time, and this was the only job he found after being rejected in many places. At least he had a job.

He was receiving a wage that was enough to pay his rent and live a normal life. "Better than homelessness," after all this, it was the best thing he got after he lost his family.

In the middle of his routine, he got annoyed by the sound of garbage bags breaking outside. He had grown tired of the repeated cleaning. "Those rats, dirty filthy creatures." He grabbed the broom with his hand and crept slowly to kill the mice, trying not to make any sound. In the last moments before he smashed the bags, he saw a white silly cat trying to escape from the bags.

He did not hurt the cat. He grabbed the bag and opened it, saying: "Here you go." He looked at the cat. It looked silly and strange, so he grabbed it and returned to the store.

Things went well for the rest of the night. After he finished his work, it was 5 a.m. He returned to his apartment, cleaning the cat and taking care of it. "At least we are together." He started playing with the cat and bringing it some food.

He left the cat to eat in peace and went to wash his hands. When he finished, he was surprised and amazed — the water was still floating, frozen in its place. Kanami tried to move it and push it, but nothing happened. He remained only in confusion and astonishment. He tried to grab the towel to dry his hands, but it was very solid and would not move from its place.

Everything seemed wrong.

Then he heard a voice in his head: "From here, from here, you idiot. I see you, yes, you!" He turned around everywhere, but he saw nothing.

"Come on, what do you think you're doing? I see you enjoying my little trick. Humans always make me feel funny." Kanami was struck with terror: "Who are you? And why are you here? Face me. Why are you hiding?"

The unknown voice fell silent, then said: "Am I hiding from you? Hiding? Are you blind? I'm right behind you." Kanami turned around in fear and looked in the mirror. He saw something his eyes could not believe.

The reflection of someone somewhere inside the mirror. Kanami repeated fearfully: "Who are you? What are you doing here? Why are you here?" The unknown voice said: "First of all, I'm not even here for you. Who would trust her? I really know there are those who are stupid or trying to die, but standing by her side is extremely exaggerated." Kanami could not understand anything, so he asked: "Who are you talking about? I don't know her at all. I will call the police."

The unknown person slowly came out of the mirror and said: "Well, it's nothing important. Don't blame me, blame yourself." Kanami stepped back. The young man appeared pale-faced, tall, with long hair gradually emerging from inside the mirror. Kanami tried to stop the matter in any way, but he didn't know what to do. Kanami quickly went to the kitchen, locked the door tightly, pushing the table behind the door, and pulled out a kitchen knife to protect himself.

Silence prevailed. Nothing but the sound of rain and wind outside. Kanami remained ready and cautious, facing the door, prepared for anything. But in a moment, with the sound of broken glass, the window shattered. How it was able to reach here was illogical. How crazy this man was to try this — it's the fifth floor. No human could do this. This was just something crazy. Now in the kitchen, both of them stood facing each other — Kanami under the twitching light of the kitchen lamp. Kanami was scared; he had never faced a real threat like this. The crazy young man stood with a smile on his face.

The young man said: "Come on, do something. Don't tell me you're afraid of someone who can't do anything. Hey, don't waste my time." Then he kicked him in the stomach, pushing him toward the wall. "Don't worry, I won't let you suffer much, you idiot. I feel sorry for you."

Kanami rushed again, waving the short knife, attacking with all he had. He rushed toward the unknown young man, waving the knife with all his anger. The young man grabbed the knife without any effort with his bare hand. Kanami did not hesitate for a moment, He let go of the knife and started throwing punches at the young man in the face and stomach. The young man was handling Kanami with one hand while the other one was still holding the knife. Kanami retreated and threw a chair at him, but to no avail. The young man remained motionless in his place, then said: "You know what, I never thought I would face someone this weak. No, no, no, it's impossible. Even I am starting to feel sorry for you."

The young man moved and threw the knife from his hand toward Kanami, but he couldn't avoid it, and it sank into his shoulder. "A mistake? I was aiming for your head actually. How funny." The young man kicked Kanami once again and came down to his level on the ground.

The scene was extremely funny to the young man, who did a wonderful job. The young man slapped Kanami on the face. "Don't lose consciousness because I need answers, or you know, it doesn't matter to me. I came for something and I have it now. Look." The young man was holding the white cat in his hand. Kanami had forgotten its existence from the beginning. Everything was illogical anyway. Why would someone like this covet Kanami's money in the first place? In any case, he was poor.

Kanami extended his hand to grab the cat, but the young man grabbed it, broke it, and said: "It won't help you now. Why don't you answer this poor boy? Don't you see how things have reached this point? How long will you continue to attract death to everyone around you?" Kanami, barely conscious, was laughing at the amount of madness. A crazy person talking to a cat? "I thought you were stupid and crazy trying to make money from a poor person, and all you were looking for was just a cat. Take it and go then."

The young man hesitated and said: "Don't kill the fun, boy. Anyway, I don't care. I will kill both of you unfortunately. The mission remains a mission before all this. What you just call a cat or Mai, this deceptive cheater, does not bring anything but corruption. As you see your condition now and who knows how much more before you, your life will reach its end for this. Your life is gone without benefit or purpose. It doesn't matter. You won't live long enough to understand." And in a moment, the young man extended his hand to Kanami's chest and plucked his heart with complete ease. The scene was terrifying and ridiculously easy.

Kanami felt cold in his entire body, lying on the ground without moving. Blood was coming out of the opening in his chest, and his consciousness was fading little by little.

Kanami opened his eyes once again. It was the store again. The pain — it was terrible. He screamed from the intensity of the pain in his chest and the rest of his body. It wasn't a dream. How did he get to the store? Why is he here? Where did the wound disappear? What happened? Whatever it was, it wasn't a dream.
