"What do you think, Shizuka?"
Arriving at the blood bank's cold storage, Nach and Shizuka found the inside far from its supposed controlled temperature meant to preserve the blood plasma.
"I don't know... I at least need to do some tests to be sure..." Shizuka murmured, unsure of the condition of the blood plasma—or rather, trying to deny what she could already tell with her eyes.
Nach realized it as well, simply by seeing Shizuka's trembling hands as she filled two transport containers with bundles of blood plasma.
"That should be enough," Shizuka said, trying to stay as cheerful as she always was.
Nach, however, could see how lonely she felt, knowing she wouldn't be able to do anything for the elderly woman.
"We can't take them all since there are still other patients here—"
"You did your best, Shizuka," Nach said, embracing her to comfort her.
"Sob..." Shizuka's composure slowly crumbled as she buried her face into his chest to muffle her cries.

After Shizuka calmed down, she and Nach joined Saya and her five bodyguards, who were gathering medical equipment in the laboratories under Joy's supervision.
Kohta and Hiro, meanwhile, kept an eye on the corridors, ready to eliminate any undead that might still be lurking nearby.
"We got as much as we can carry in two bags," Saya said, greeting Nach and Shizuka while showing them the contents—manual microscopes, syringes, beakers, test tubes, and other items, including reactive agents for blood testing.
"Are you perhaps testing blood from the infected, Marikawa-san?" Joy asked, basing her assumption on the items Shizuka had requested Saya to gather.
"Ehh?... Hmm... Something like that," Shizuka replied, unsure how much she could reveal about their investigation into Saki's body.
"Then you should meet the head doctor. He was doing the same experiment, after all."

Curious about the experiment Joy mentioned, Nach decided their group should visit the head doctor despite his worries for Rei's safety.
Returning to the ground floor lobby, their group passed by the in-store groceries and pharmacy.
"Did you also move all the supplies to your shelter on the upper floors?" Saya asked, directing her question to Joy after seeing the empty pharmacy and grocery store.
Joy quickly understood what Saya meant and responded directly.
"I'm sorry, but we can't afford to share our food supplies."
Saya fell silent for a moment, disappointed that they couldn't obtain food supplies from the hospital as she had initially planned.
"I know. It's not like I'm planning to take food from the sick—" Saya said, maintaining her composure, only to suddenly crouch down when she felt a hand patting her head.
"Stop patting my head or I might end up like an idiot!"
Saya managed to dodge the head pat, but Nach wasn't going to give up just yet.
"There's no way that's true, Saya."
"Shut it—Pervert!"
While Nach and Saya engaged in their childish chase, the group arrived at the stairs leading to the second floor.
"We might not be able to share food supplies, but if it's medicine, we have enough to spare," Joy said as she led them upstairs, with Nach, Saya, and Shizuka following behind while the others stayed back to watch their rear.
"Really? Then we'll take it!" Saya exclaimed in delight, letting her guard down just enough for Nach to finally pat her head.
"Pfft—Hahaha."
Shizuka and Joy laughed as they watched Nach tease Saya.
"Stop it, Per—"
But right then—ROAR!
An undead doctor jumped from the second floor, diving straight at Joy.
"Get down!" Nach shouted, reacting quickly as he grabbed his axe, ready to strike—if only Joy would move out of his way.
However, Joy didn't need any help at all.
"So this is where you are hiding, Doctor Faust," she said before casually swinging her left hand and severing the head of the incoming undead.
THUD!
GAHHH!!!
The headless body and severed head tumbled down the stairs onto the ground floor, startling everyone below.
"What happened, Takagi-san?"
"Aniki!"
Kohta and Hiro rushed up the stairs, followed by the five bodyguards.
Nach, Shizuka, and Saya were left speechless as they stared at Joy.
"There was an undead still lurking on the second floor," Joy said, answering for them.
"But Marikawa-san's boyfriend quickly took care of it," she added, giving a wink—silently asking Nach, Shizuka, and Saya to keep what they saw a secret.
So she really is a half-undead!
Nach exclaimed internally, and even Shizuka and Saya shared the same thought.

Arriving at the seventh floor, Nach's group was greeted by more than a hundred patients ranging from children to the elderly, along with another hundred relatives. Only a dozen female nurses were tending to the sick, and a dozen maintenance workers were reinforcing the barricades.
The five bodyguards were guided by a few nurses to collect the medicine that could be spared.
Kohta and Hiro took on lookout roles, positioning themselves where they could see the direction of the shelter in case Rei signaled with flares.
Meanwhile, Nach, Shizuka, and Saya were led by Joy to the head doctor's office.
"Ahh~... Ahh~... Ahh~..."
"I think the head doctor is still busy at the moment," Joy said with an excited smile as she opened the door, making the moaning sounds clearer.
"So please wait for a bit," she added before stepping into the dimly lit room and closing the door.
Nach sat down on the couch.
Shizuka moved to sit beside him, but Nach grabbed her waist and guided her onto his lap.
He tightened his embrace around her waist, then buried his face in her nape over her long blonde hair, taking a deep breath as if intoxicated by her alluring scent.
"Did that calm you down, Nach?" Shizuka teased, despite knowing how excited and aroused he was, his massive hard erection pressing on her soft rear.
