"It doesn't… My name is Genma Shiranui, I have been assigned to act as your guide during your stay here in Konoha, so please if you need anything, do not hesitate to ask me" the ninja said as he bowed, the Senbon still twirling all around in his mouth.
Shiranui… Hearing the surname, Saburo merely nodded. It seemed that Konoha considered him important enough that they sent a Jonin from a named clan to guide him.
However, considering that even as he did his research before coming, he didn't hear much about a Shiranui clan in Konoha, which meant that it wasn't a bestowed surname, after all the number of bestowed noble clans were limited.
Surnames in Hi No Kuni (Land of Fire) followed a strict set of rules, Official clan names were bestowed by the Damyo, yes, that is the level of power that a daimyo had.
The names on the Daimyo's table were Hyuga, Sarutobi, Uchiha, Senju and a few more in Konoha but there were also self given names, some people of certain ranking had given themselves clan names.
Though not recognized by the court, it was still a practice that was everywhere and practiced by merchants, strong samurai or shinobi. Even his surname 'Kisiragi' was technically a self given name.
It was self-given in terms that the Daimyo had given the name to himself but otherwise it's the official family name of the daimyo so you wouldn't find another kisiragi in all of Hi no Kuni who wasn't related to the daimyo in some shape or form.
Of course such rules also meant that if you were a commoner then you had no surname like Hayato, his name was simply Hayato and nothing else.
Looking at the young shinobi before him, Saburo smiled before gesturing for them to get into the carriage.
Genma may not really represent much but by sending him showed Konoha's stance in this situation. He was strong and also from an unknown clan hence had no ties to Current leadership. Konoha was trying to maintain a neutral stance to his presence.
It wasn't long before they arrived before the large gates of the academy, he could see children running around.
There were many his age and many more above him, the environment really made him feel as though he was back in his school.
"Oh by the way, I completely forgot, is there a bookstore of some sort around, I don't really have any school supplies with me," Saburo said as Genma handled the gatekeeper to allow the carriage into the school's compound.
"You don't have to worry, those could be purchased within the academy itself" Genma replied
"I see then" Saburo answered before turning back to look through the window
Before long, they were in front of the main academy building, for security reasons, there was a large distance between the gates and the academy itself.
Honestly the school sat on a massive amount of land that Saburo wondered if it was really accurate to call Konoha a village.
The so-called village was nearly as big as the capital city and was nearly as active.
As soon as they stepped out of the carriage, Saburo was met with a small line up of shinobi. Each one was dressed in full shinobi get up but unlike Genma who had an additional wild attribute to his presence.
They had this peaceful, scholarly-like aura to them that made it easy to spot their occupation.
"Miya-sama!" the one leading them called out.
It was a man who looked to be in his early thirties, there was what looked like a cut across his nose. The man approached him before bowing deeply.
Following him the other people who he guessed were all the academy's instructors bowed as well
