The show kept rolling, one massive song after another. The crowd was a blur of hands, flashing lights, and loud voices.
Mason disappeared for ten minutes and came back with three light-up bracelets, forcing one onto my wrist and attempting to put one on Cassian, who looked at the glowing pink plastic like it was a live grenade until Mason gave up and wore two on his own arm.
I was laughing so hard my stomach hurt, swaying along to a slower, heavy ballad the band had just started playing. The crowd had calmed down a bit, glowing phone screens lighting up the dark arena like a sea of tiny stars.
I let my eyes wander across the elevated platform we were standing on.
A few yards away, near the edge of the VIP section where the platform met the private staircases, someone caught my eye.
It was hard not to look. The person was tall, lean, and wearing an outfit that seemed to reflect every single light in the room.
