The city lights blurred past the tinted windows as Leo drove smoothly down the avenue, heading toward my neighborhood.
The warm, full feeling from dinner was still lingering in my stomach, but as the quiet stretched, the low hum of the car engine started to make the exhaustion seep back into my bones.
Leo glanced over at me, his hands resting easily on the steering wheel.
"Noah," Leo said softly, his voice gentle in the dim interior. "I want to apologize again for earlier today."
I blinked, looking over at him. "For what?"
"For getting you in trouble with your boss," Leo said, a faint, guilty grimace touching his handsome profile. "I was being selfish. I asked for a kiss, and I shouldn't have put you in a position where you had to deal with workplace drama."
I let out a soft huff of air, shaking my head. "Leo, stop. Please. You didn't force me into anything. I was the one who pulled your tie, remember? It was completely mutual."
