NOAH
The entire day on Sunday had been nice. Just nice.
There was no grand revelation, no dramatic emotional breakdown, and no lingering shadow of the kind that usually followed me around.
I spent most of it lounging on my couch with my phone buzzing every few minutes.
Leo had texted me pictures of the dumbest things, a stray cat sitting on top of a parking meter, a terribly burnt piece of toast he tried to make for breakfast, and a screenshot of his sister threatening to ruin his life if he didn't bring her ice cream.
I laughed until my ribs hurt. I sent him a picture of my terribly microwaved lunch, complained about my laundry, and bantered back and forth without having to second-guess every single word I typed.
For once, I didn't have to decode a hidden meaning behind a period or wonder if I was being too annoying. It was light. It was easy.
